In short: Fab, will 100% do it next year! In full: Excellent race, incredibly well organised!! Medal & T-Shirt which I liked. Great course, except the last one and a half mile stretch before the stadium, it drags a bit and I found it hard going. I loved the stadium finish it was amazing to hear the crowd / tannoy and supporters cheer you on for that final bit!
On the time though I would prefer if the certificates were made out to the chip time not the gun time. I stuck to my time time pen and only crossed the start 30 seconds after the gun, which means the official time is 30 seconds longer that my chip time. I worked hard for those 30 seconds, at other races I have been to the certificate time is the same as my chip time. Just a thought for next year. Date of review: April 29, 2013

In short: Great atmosphere, excellent organisation, friendly people In full: I thought this was a great race. I was not in form but still the participants were lovely and friendly, considerate of others, the marshalls were really supportive and well positioned. The Pub the Welcome Tavern is a great venue to start and finish the race. Local sports shop had a stall outside the pub in case anyone had forgotten anything. A lovely day out. The scenery was not great but I live in the Lakes and its hard to compare. Date of review: January 29, 2012

In short: great atmosphere through the villages, nice scenery In full: I really enjoyed this half-marathon, it was scenic, friendly, and well organised. I was a little disappointed with some of the spectators on the sheep mount and had to dodge a few who were heading back towards town. Great medal and T-Shirt but otherwise the goody bag was a little disappointing and I have had better. Still I think it was a great event and well worth doing again and again. Oh to the other writer I had a Garmin 405CX Forerunneron and it measured 13.1miles so no, I don't think it was a long half-marathon. Date of review: October 4, 2011

In short: amazing atmosphere!! the crowds were fantastic!! In full: There was music playing, people offering you sweets and kids lining the roads. The start was well organised and easy for friends and family to meet you / drop your things off etc. Information about buses for spectators needs to be easier to understand. I think it was amazing for runners but not so great for spectators. The family reunion area could have been better organised with crew helping them along. Date of review: May 24, 2011
