In short: Reasonable trail run but a great goody bag
In full: This is the second time I have completed the trailblazer series at Clumber Park. My first was in 2011 which was run over a slightly different course to this one. Registering was easy and there are discounts available. On the days building up to the race I have to say I was disappointed not to be able to view a race list to confirm my wave of entry.
A few runners complained that the sat nav address was wrong to get to the event. Free Parking to the National Trust site is excellent value if you are going to make a day of it. Registration on the day was seemless even though you were expected to thread the timing chip through laces. Where are the cable ties??? The course is a mixture of grass, tarmac roads and trails. It is mostly spent in woodland and is undulating. One stretch at about 4.5 miles was really poor for running on compared to the other sections and almost led me to go right over on my ankle. The athletes village was great and also the warm up. There were a few activities for young children to take part in while others were out on the course. The tech t shirt was good as was the goody bag.

In short: A great half marathon, even better this year!!
In full: Tagged as a fast, flat half- it does have potential to be a fast race- it isn't flat though. An uphil start then uphill from 2 to 6 miles- it gets better on the way back but a nasty climb in the last 800m sorts the men out from the boys- Felt the sponsor of Nike is a coup and the t shirts were alot better this year. Well organised at the start and a good fun run too

In short: 9th year of doing it- love it every time
In full: the numbers that do it and the atmosphere make it a special race, yes it is challenging with the profile, but very worthwhile with the support that is equal to the VLM. Depending which zone you start from the course has PB potenial.
