In short: Simple budget race in park in 4 laps, pretty flat
In full: Flat 4 laps around park of paths and grass. Very accurately measured by mcc so improved on previous 10k's which they always get slated on. 1 very nice lady marshall who encouraged alot and called out the current lap times as we dont get chip timing when we ran past. Everyone got a goody bag with medal, tshirt and help yourself on bottle water. Good bargain for £10 and it was nice warm morning. Fast registration and pick of numbers. To be honest it is well organised compared to 2011 reviews.

In short: £10 race with medal, water and Tshirt, worth doing again as practice race
In full: This is what I expected for a £10 race. Good value for tenner to be honest. 10k are my practice races for longer races. The purpose is to have other runners motivate me to run faster in race atmosphere. I dont usually run on grass so it is a different surface for me. Plus there was some slight inclines adds its challenges. On top of the wet grass and mud as it rained the night before. Yes it was 450metres short from 10k but I kind of knew a low cost race may not be accurate. If you have GPS, I would personally track my progress from pace per km so 450 metres out doesnt bother me. I thought it was good enough organisation for this small event, Nice generic medal with event engraved on the back, could have put the year as well to add further value. A nice budget tshirt to keep warm after race. Plenty of water to take during race and after. Not as bad as i expected when i read previous reviews on the organisers. Maybe Reigate was bit better and improved.

In short: Nice and Flat in a nice park, 2 laps and friendly
In full: This is a nice park with a flat surface for PB potential. Lots of fast runners encouraging you to run at a faster pace. It is 2 laps around the park mainly on gravel paths. Smoothe start and finish. Great generic medal, should print the year as well on the back. Enough water at the finish and some chocolates and raisins. Nice and cold today, one of my coldest races.

In short: Easy and short 10k in bargain £10, enough water and marshalls
In full: This is a nice local small event 10k in a park going round 4 laps on walkways. There was bottled water every lap if you needed. Many people have said it is short of 10k and if they made effort to extend the finish it would be nice. The medal is the average 10k medal but with a touch of thought by engraving event name and year. Good bag this year was only medal and energy drink but still a bargain for £10 especially as its a charity fun run for London wildcare. I would do it again in the summer as I was not 100% to get a PB on this flat course. Easy parking right near start as well. Toilets very dirty in pavillion.

In short: Well organised, 1st half was fast but last half has few slopes, nice crowds
In full: Lots of expensive parking about in Birmingham centre £10 for 6 hours stay as expected for city centre parking. No problems with parking.

Well organised by great run as usual. Water at the start and finish is great. Enough water/powerade stops. If any energy drink company comes up with smaller energy shot/drinks it will save so much money and give us an extra drink at the finish will be better. Lets see if they will ever do it.

First 10k was fast as included downhills. Last 11k had a small challenge of slope near the end but still managed a PB.

The finish should include timing chip removers or helpers at hand. Not everyone is capable of bending down and pulling off race chip of removing trainers and laces after 13.1 miles. Bit lazy of Great Run.

Event price from great run always steep as its well organised but Tshirt needs to improve in quality as they are such a big organiser. Im sure they can arrange a massive deal for technical tshirts just like their medals which look the same apart from the other side.

This year race numbers having names is great idea, bigger name and smaller numbers will be better next year on a cheering point of view.

In short: Definately for PB's, great value for fee
In full: This is definately a PB race as advertised. So flat that I ran so fast and got PB for 5k and 10k. But,ran out of steam and missed PB for 21k by 3 secs.

It is value for money and was organised well. loads of car parks with free permit to use. The car parks were sign posted marathon parking as well. Plenty of toilets and urinals for men helped. Started on time as well. The cotton goody bag was brilliant as you can use again and again. Plenty of water and cups of energy drinks at the end. Lovely technical Ron hill tshirt. Medal is nice, could have made it different for half marathon as same as kids race.

Definately will run again. Interested in 2012 course as they changing it. But, this clashes with Royal parks half which I also want to do that.

In short: Nice flat route with plenty of support, PB potential
In full: This is a nice flat course with plenty of local support. Parking was perfect with 2 free car park really close to start and finish line. The loop at the start was okay as you get to see supporters or family again. Just extend the loop next year and it will be fine.

I managed a PB and the heavy rain made me go slower as trainers were drenched but was happy with the rain as it cooled me down.

The medal was nice but maybe a goody bag with do it for everyone.

Baggage was chaos even though I didnt use it as I could see the queue when I went.

I would definately recommened this race. And unless there is another race somewhere else I prefer to do. I will go back and do this again. I hope I can bid on a number next year as i missed the deadline this year.

In short: Flat and lots of water, nice marshalls, great beginner PB course
In full: Nice flat course for PB's. Bit hot running at 11am but lucky they have water stations every 2 km. Nice goody food bag. Medal could be better quality as I am a medal collector. But certificate a nice touch. Would consider doing it again to beat PB next year.

In short: Poorly organised rip off run. great london route and supporters
In full: This is not an ASICS sponsored run anymore as its destroys the brand for Asics. No wonder they dont have a sponsor this year. Being a big 25,000 runner race it will be crowded and hard to get a PB even if it is a flat course.

But plenty of great supporters as its a London event.

I knew it will be crowded with all levels of runners so I sneaked as near to start as possible. But, I still had to weave round slow runners and walkers. I managed a PB only due to forced slow pacing from blockages on first few KM's allowing me to run faster on last 7 KM's.

Medal and tshirt does not reflect the price and hyped up event. Medal was disappointingly cheap, strap is ripping apart alreay. Goody bag had nothing in it worth mentioning.

Event was unorganised as no one takes to you to start. You follow the crowd. The medals and tshirts were help yourself at the baggage bays. I saw lots of people take extra tshirts and medals. Although they are crap medals and tshirts, but if you overcharge for the event and dont give out the medals/tshirts yourselves and leave them in boxes. People will get greedy. I hope everyone got a medal and tshirt as it was a free for all the baggage bay.

I was at the finish line until 12 taking pictures with family and friends. There was lots of water and gatorade left. This should have been given to runners in goody bags. As any leftovers are part of runners entry fee.

Being the 11th year, it will never change. It will remain unorganised as they havent learnt and not interested in improving. We all know about race times, pens, colours and medals at finish lines. Organisers dont need to read our comments they should know if they want to be successful events organisers or are they businessmen?
2012 is £50 and it is all hyped up again but I am sucked into the run as it is the big 2012. I am sure it will be a rip off for the money.

I already registered for BUPA 10,000 without hesitation. British 10k places will still be open until the last week again. No need to register early.

In short: Cross country, muddy and very generous and useful goody bag contents
In full: This was my first cross country attempt and it was quite tough with hills, mud, and stones. Did it in 54 mins but the course was bit short from 10k. The goody bag was very good for £15, very useful runners food and drinks, the best I ever had even beats the over £50 events. Gold Medal was ok. A challenging run but I would come back again next year better trained for hills and mud.
