In short: A great race with character
In full: A great location and a well organised race. An interesting course with charcter (city, country, riverside & race course start & finish). Good value - iso & bottled water, LS tech top, great goody bag, great facilities and very well organised especially the marshalls. Many thanks to all.

In short: Thanks Great Run for organising - much needed change
In full: The 2010 race was a shabmles with congestion at the start and finish due to very poor organisation.
No such problems now the Great Run team have come down from Newcastle to organise. Started in 4 waves (11-13 mins apart) not terrible keen on that but it's a must on this course.
Brilliant crowds
My highliget of the year was seeing the great Haile Gabrselassie strom past on the opposite side of the road on the long out and back section.

In short: Great course, quite a few hills but not too steep, fantastic last 2m downhill finish
In full: The start was a bit congested but I'm not moaning.

Overall a great race, I managed a PB and really enjoyed the last 2 miles downhill - I got some time back for a change!

In short: Great people around the course shame the Organisers are useless
In full: The start was a joke, I spent the first 9 miles weaving past walkers and slow joggers. I felt gutted by this - but thanksfully avoided the madness of queueing to cross the finish line - absolutely criminal. Great spectators & bands.
