In short: Nails
In full: By far the hardest thing I have done, I am a relative beginner to longer trail runs and certainly underestimated this. Some of the hills are so steep running up them is near impossible save for the leading runners no doubt. Really tough but incredible scenery, coming down from "the snake" and overlooking the sea particularly beautiful, plus great value (socks and a decent medal for £12 entry) make this one to remember. Ill be back, but i think more hill training beforehand next time!! Thanks to the very supportinve marshalls

In short: What a nice race.....
In full: Nearly didnt run this as my knee was playing up but so glad I did...even if I had to call it a day at 15 miles while i could still walk. Lovely scenery and undulating but never too steep (albeit I didn't have to do the second hill twice!) Will definitely be back next year to do the whole thing. Well done to the organisers

In short: Excellently Organised Dull Race
In full: Really well organised, flat as a board and some nice bits through Ferring but ultimately 4 laps around part of my home town does nothing for the boredom factor. Marshalls were great, nice medal, perfect measurement, flat and results were out straight away - perfect training run.

In short: I love this run!!
In full: Not enough decent training, carrying too much timber and should definitely not have opened the 2nd bottle of wine the night before but this race is my absolute favourite. All hills and virtually no flats, a small local race across the South Downs is hard going but glorious. Its true cross country with styles, mud, trees everything you want. If you like cross country, hilly, challenging courses do this one and dont plan for a PB! The best race in Sussex bar none

In short: Picturesque and fast
In full: A lovely seaside race, by and large flat and lovely village scenery. Really enjoyable race but just not different enough to be truly special. Drove 70 miles to run it, it was well worth it and will definitely do it again however.

In short: Without question my favourite
In full: Of all the Sussex races i have run this is without doubt my favourite. Virtually zero chance of a PB due to the long 5k climb, sharp downhill and steep climb at 7k, but nobody cares! The organisation is great, its always well supported at the finish and running through the castle grounds is great. If you havent done it yet, you must.

In short: If only they could count to 10
In full: I always look forward to seafront races - even the wind usually doesnt ruin the enjoyment. However reading the other reviews i now know why my time was so bad... without a garmin today it had seemed a long way between 5 and 6k..... now i know why. Such a shame to ruin the enjoyment of a race by getting something as basic as distance right. A lot of people would enter this to tryand beat their PB. I will be back next year - but only because it is a good cause.

In short: Hilly, Hot and Tough
In full: Superbly organised, extremely well marshalled and signposted, incredible scenery and very tough. The hot weather didnt help but a really good challenge. I wouldnt expect a PB on it though!! Will definitely be back next year. Thanks to all the marshalls and organisers. Great post race cake and flapjacks

In short: Great support
In full: Nice location, real bottle neck at the beginning and i got a number putting me in the last group despite putting 1hr 40 as expected time which meant weaving through walkers and people dressed as bananas. That aside, well marshalled, suberb support and a pretty flat course. Nice to see the elites run past as well.
Thoroughly enjoyable
