In short: Great Race , Rubbish start In full: Really looked forward to Cardiff as a PB race, but the start was chaotic and frankly amateur. I was aiming for a sub 1:50 but the pushing and overcrowding in the start grid was ridiculous. The width of the start track meant I was practically slowed to a stop due to slower runners being in the wrong place. Come on Cardiff, you have the potential to be one of the best in the country but your start technique is hopeless. Go to Newcastle and see how its done for goodness sake. At the very least if you cant start on a wide carriageway then have starting pens where runners of equal ability can start together. Very disappointed that got no PB, but regardless of my gripe about the start fiasco I would definitely rate this race and recommend it. Date of review: October 17, 2011
