In short: Fantastic, low-key, friendly local race In full: This is everything a rural race should be. Enthusiastic, friendly marshalling (the screaming girls at the mile 7 water station made my day); a beautiful course on winding, virtually traffic-free lanes; and the sort of organisation that you don't notice, because everything happens as it should.
Four water stations (with bottles, and enough marshalls to mean you can grab one without breaking step) and accurate mile signs. Ohh, and cake at the end.
I'll be back next year. Date of review: March 25, 2012
In short: A potentially fun race spoilt by terrible organisation In full: No marshall and no sign at the corner at 5K meant runners went the wrong way. Then, somewhere after 7k, the field scattered, again because there were no signs and no marshalls. Runners had to be rounded up by motorbike. Avoid. Date of review: September 10, 2011
