In short: Fast, friendly and well organised In full: My first time at Peterborough and I ran alone, so wasn't really looking forward to it. But the race had a really good atmosphere, the city was all geared up with full roads closed to allow plenty of room. It's a surburban run, but being a townie I didn't mind at all. Lots of people came out of their houses to cheer people on and kids shouting "you can do it!" at everyone. Nice to feel so welcome when a city is shut down so we can run. Oh and I got a PB. In short: Very pretty, small, friendly race. A bit hot for me, but water bottles helped. In full: This was my first go at Bassingbourn. It's a pretty route and the ATR is a good start point. Could have used more loos, but not dreadful queues really. Informal approach to starting, no markers for how long you think it will take. Good support from the Marshalls, and lots of kids with Jelly Babies en route. I thought to get a medal and a t-shirt was pretty generous for the price and for a small race - even got my size t-shirt. What made my day was the complete stranger who helped encourage me to pull a little more out the bag to get through the finish line proud. Thank you! About 40 seconds off a PB I think - but it was pretty hot! Date of review: June 10, 2012

In short: Well organised race with good water and sponge stations. Although mostly flat, very exposed so on a hot and windy day, there was little shade or shelter making it tough to get a PB. In full: A good atmosphere, lovely setting and well organised event. It was, however, a hot and very windy day and felt like the wind was always against the flow. Tough going for me, but the frequent water stations helped and sponges were a nice touch - gratefully received. Date of review: September 12, 2011

In short: A good race to cut your teeth on. In full: My first Half, so not much to compare it to. But excellent support on the way around, pretty villages, nice course. The last bit in the showground is deceptively long on tired legs. Date of review: March 23, 2011
