In short: Again, faultless!
In full: After a 3-hour journey down south, it was lovely to be 'out there' again. Unexpected for this time of year, beautiful wintry scenery greeted us, plus the 'usual' deep puddles and very muddy trails, not forgetting the ever-so-lovely, friendly & smiley marshals. They really deserve a very special thank-you from me, as I was the last finisher. Despite the cold, they were still full of smiles, handing out water and plenty of jelly-babies. Superb encouragement from them all the way - what more could I ask? The organisation was, again, superb, run like clock-work. The much appreciated carrots & Jaffa cakes at the finish, and the unforgettable breakfast made today a most memorable event for me. My sincere thanks also go out to Dr. Rob, for waiting for me at the finish line - you really deserved your breakfast!!! Thanks for giving us all such brilliant events! See you at the 'Munro'.

In short: SUPERB!
In full: Back, for the second time and, again, absolutely everything was great about this half-marathon, apart from the frrrreezing conditions compared to last year. It took me a very long time to get round but the marshals were absolutely brilliant: They really cheered us slower runners on, with a big smile on their faces, without fail! If I was feeling the cold - how much worse must they have felt, standing around, waiting for us all to pass? You all did such a sterling job, thank you so very much! Loved the goody bag (yes, really full of useful goodies) and the colour of the technical t-shirt was superb! Weather permitting, I should be back next year. I just wish that Grantham AC would do entries-on-the-day again, for all of us feeling the cold so much. If you've never run this one, you won't regret it!

In short: Absolutely BRILLIANT!
In full: My first ever Knacker Cracker. Having conquered Leith Hill last year, which was superb in every way, this event too didn't disappoint: Again superb organisation, marshals, finish mementoes and stunning scenery. Not for the faint-hearted but, for me, everything was absolutely perfect. Will most definitely return next year, can't wait! Thank you Dr. Rob and everyone on your team, you and your races are simply the BEST!

In short: Brilliant!
In full: This was a new one for me and it was well worth the journey. Organised like clock-work, nice finish memento plus a bottle of Ale, and medals for the kids. Loved the idea of everyone's name printed on the race number which made it extra sepcial. Lovely course, lots of mud, just like a cross-country event should be. A big well-done and thank-you to everyone who was involved in this excellent race.

In short: Superb!
In full: My second time at this beautifully organised and very friendly half-marathon: Very smooth running of coaches to the race venue, a very scenic course, slightly undulating, marshals who clearly enjoyed cheering us on, fast results service and another fabulous memento - a backpack! Bedford Harriers at their best, again! I shall be back next year. My sincere thank-you to everyone for staging such a lovely event.

In short: SUPERB!
In full: Firstly, a HUGE WELL DONE to Robert McCaffrey and all his wonderful helpers for staging such a first-class event! Everything was absolutely perfect, from the hospitality & welcome, to the organisation, from the magnificent but very tough course to the brilliant finishers mementoes.
Unfortunately, I took a wrong turning (MY fault), adding 4 mins to my time trying to get to the top of Leith Hill before the 1:12 hrs cut-off time. Sadly, it wasn't to be. While I was disappointed about that, however, if I am honest I don't think that I would have been able to complete the full distance. Despite all of that, I still thoroughly enjoyed the course and scenery of the half-marathon. All going well, I shall return to the Leith Hill half-marathon next year. Tough, yes, but well worth the effort.

In short: Superb in every way!
In full: I only ever ran this event back in 2002 and didn't like the course at the time. However, the new course was absolutely excellent: flat, fast, well supported and marshalled. A superb medal and excellent t-shirt, plus Jaffa cakes, bananas etc, plus a nice bag made it excellent value-for-money. All going well I shall return next year.

In short: Absolutely fantastic!
In full: I ran the full marathon last year and, as I had enjoyed the whole atmosphere so much then, I returned this year to do it all again but, this time, just the half-marathon. Everything was just perfect, yet again: The marshals, the route, the organisation, the lovely medal and technical-t-shirt, my excellent shield - you name it this event has got it all! Well worth the trip, from wherever you live, you won't be disappointed. A perfect PB course, fast and scenic if you find the time to look at the scenery!! All going well, I shall return in 2013. Can't wait!

In short: Absolutely fantastic!
In full: Well worth the trip to Nottingham. Lots of crowd support, a reasonably flat course, great organisation, lovely race village with lots to do and buy, and a super medal to all finishers. The race t-shirt which could be bought was of great quality. All in all - a super half-marathon.
