In short: Enjoyable race at an unusual distance
In full: Excellent organisation by Yaxley. Cars ferried you from the car park to the race HQ and were waiting by the race HQ to whisk you back there. Well done Yaxley, this was a really nice touch - and gave runners the chance to discuss their efforts over the race. Could let you walk back and advertise it as a cool down but the free shuttle was a very nice touch.

Decent course, went there fearing the worst from reviews but I thought it was playful rather than demanding, the hills were cheeky rather than beastly. It is undulating though and not flat, you tend to either be heading up or down nearly the entire time.

Great spring marathon training race, excellent bright technical t-shirt on completion and overall well worth the drive from South Norfolk for my 15M debut.

In short: Great first ever marathon in a fine city
In full: Good course, my first marathon but can safely say I've run far hillier halfs and what not. I thought the course had it's moments and some of the coastal scenery was nothing short of brilliant.

Very warm on the day but no shortage of drink stations and no problems with running out of water as far as I could tell. Friendly locals with hosepipes, kids with super-soakers, you name it, if someone could wet you with something they would. Fantastic local support and especially towards the latter stages when I was beginning to wilt in the heat! Couple of drum bands on route which I loved, was fantastic and really lifted the spirits. Good organisation, no problems with the finish - a bit better signage is a small gripe.

Overall a great place for a visit and a marathon. Even though it's a long old way from Norwich I can't say for sure that I won't be back sometime. Loved my marathon debut, a return is most definitely not out of the question.

In short: Great event with a couple of nice climbs thrown in!
In full: CONAC do put on a decent race and this one is no exception. Great marshalling, good race HQ and a good medal and goody bag make this a good race. Earlier start time of 9am didn't deter plenty of spectactors from turning up. Not ideal PB territory because the climbs can catch you out but I run this route near enough every week because it's right by my work so I was well prepared. The finish on a gravel car park is not ideal as I nearly went over hitting the sharp turn in to it at speed but can see why they have to do it. Well worth entering, fills up every year.

In short: Great local race with some proper hills!
In full: It's only six miles down the road for me so I really enjoy Bungay half and have done it twice now and will be back in 2013. From one year to the next I forget how steep the hills are in the first half! It's a joy when it flattens out at halfway, but the climbs do give way to some gorgeous scenary. Pockets of really good local support, especially past the pubs! Half marathon sold out this year so it's getting more and more popular, well done Bungay Black Dog Running Club.

In short: Decent undulating course, look out for the hill before the finish!
In full: Good race this at a distance I've never tried before having run 10k's and HM's. Great way to start January off and spare a thought for those marshals stood out in the cold - would much rather be running in weather like today!

Decent mix of club and non-club members and plenty of differing abilities running on very quiet roads. A fair few hills caught me out a little today but they added to the enjoyment.

Will be back in 2013 that's for sure.
