In short: People should stop being so critical, personal opinion. Fantastic...but with slight faults. In full: New PB: Anyone can see this race has the potetial for that being pretty flat the whole way around.
Organisation: Fantastic...an example to others. Race information pack was brilliant, told you everything you could ever need to know, and saved us a few disasters on road closures. Race day organisation also worked like clockwork, right from the start pens to the goody bag collection at the finish.
Weather on the day was perfect for the first wave, mabye not so perfect once the sun got up...i dont know.
Once at the finish the organisation was spot on, and the medal and t-shirt are great. Possibly the same cant be said for the goody bag, although the bag was useful to put stuff in post race...that was about its only use.
Everyone seems to be complaining about how expensive the race was, but if you count the free t-shirt, and all the free sports drinks rather than normal water...it really wasnt that expensive.
Support really good at some points, slightly lacking at others for what is a city center race for the last 5 miles or so...
Overall. I will be back next year, need i say more. Date of review: September 18, 2011

In short: Very well organised, scenic, cheap, good atmosphere..what more can you ask for? In full: Lovely scenic course, great organisation, pretty quick course, and all at a bargain price with any profit going to charity...
On a hot day in June nearly 200 runners gathered at Nailsea rugby club (dont follow the directions on the website!) for a wonderful run in the warm evening sun.
The only thing i could think of to improve it would be a medal, goody bag, t-shirt for every finisher.(Only spot prizes this year). But other than that a great race, thanks NRC. Date of review: July 11, 2011

In short: Really well organised, and a nice competitive race. In full: A really well organised race once you arrived, the pre-race communicatiuon was rather non-existant through the website, but if you entered by post in the pre-entries and sent an adressed envelope you got your race number and the race details sent to you, which (other than a course map) was everything you'd need to know.
Once arrived there was ample parking and all you had to do was follow the people to find the race HQ and the starts, and when you were close everything (starts, HQ, finish ect) was all well signposted. Race HQ seemed very organised and efficient (i was only there to pick up my free t-shirt for pre-entries, but everything else looked good).
Good atmosphere at the start and lots of announcements on when you needed to be where ect. Not so much of an atmosphere during the race, but thats because most people seemed to be head down just concentrated on the race.
A pretty nice flat course, which other than the starting section through Glastonbury is rather scenic. A couple of medium hills but nothing to drastic. Not much support on the way round but loads of people at the finish, and once you'd finished organisation seemed spot on again. Only critisism is the race clock seemed to be 10 minutes fast.....
Nice finishers medal for what is only a small local race, and the free t-shirt is always a bonus. Really good value overall at only £8.
Race organisers seem to be letting themselves down with their website again after the race as there are still no results two days later (not even provisional ones), which seeing as they were all being written down as the race ended is not great.

In short: First Half Marathon- Definately made me want to do another. Great race. In full: My first half marathon and a really great introduction to what its all about, all well organised for a day on such a big scale (2500 people). The scale of the event and all the other features that come with a large scale event add to a really pleasant course (other than some of the hills-definately not a PB course!). Really great race, and in my meagre experience i would definately recommend. Ill be going back next year in any case! Date of review: March 30, 2011
