In short: fantastic 10k course for any runner. PB potential and very well organised In full: Organisation is important going to any event and Bolsover 10k was fantastic. Plenty of toilets right next to the start line and race HQ. Sports hall at the school to leave bags and keep warm. Fast, PB potential course and chiptimed. I recommend this race to all runners and especially PB hunters! I will be back next year. Date of review: December 16, 2013
In short: Fast flat 10k course for PB hunters! In full: Very well organised and marshalled course. Flat and fast on road, traffic free, chip timed, plenty of parking, helpful volunteers, water station. Multiple lap course which was good as you could pace yourself round for the final lap to make sure you get your PB! Defiantly will be returning in 2014. I recommend to all runners of all abilities
In short: fast flat 5k PB race! In full: Very well organised and marshalled race. Fast and flat course if your aiming for a fast PB. Cheap entry fee which includes finishers medal and goody bag. Not many flat fast 5k races around so add this race to your list to race! Date of review: August 27, 2013
In short: fast flat PB potential race. Very well organised and marshalled. Good value for money. Defiantly will be there next year. In full: If your after a new 10K PB this is one of them races. Fast and flat on the roads of Salford. Maybe not the most scenic place to run but a new PB is all that matters at the end of the day. 2 laps which is great as you know what time/pace your running at and you know the course on the 2nd time round to speed up or down. Very competitive race with loads of good runners which is great to follow a good pace setter. Recommend to all levels of ability, really flat course and PB is there for the taking Date of review: April 7, 2012
In short: Beautiful scenery, fun course, good value for money. I've ran up many hills in my career but this one by far the biggest and toughest, I will have nightmares of this hill In full: For a cross country course you can't ask for much more. Horse rider sets the race off and leads the way for the first 2K which was a first for me. Fantastic scenery and one massive hill which will test you early on. After this pretty much flat and fast weaving in and out of woodlands which was fun. Couple of stiles to jump over also. Well marshalled and mapped out throughout the course with water station half way round. A very enjoyable course which I will do again next year as entry is a great value for money.
In short: Enjoyable course with nice long stretches of flat fast parts but also some challenging hills which you do 3times. Definitely doing it again. Good atmosphere finishing inside Don Valley Stadium. Beautiful day hundreds of people what else could you ask In full: 3 laps in and around don valley stadium. After the first lap it helps to pace yourself for the next two knowing when to speed up or slow down. Some tough hills which test you especially by the 2nd and 3rd time round. Buzzing atmosphere every time you came into the stadium. Sun was out so was a few hundred spectators. Well organised event with water stations and first aid along the route. Good banter and rivalry between both universities. You either had a yellow or red t-shirt in your race pack depending which team you were on. Defiantly doing it again and I recommend this 10k for all abilities. Date of review: March 27, 2012
In short: Well organised race with everything you could ask for in a half marathon. Beautiful scenery, 2 challenging hills, long stretches of open road and good support along the way In full: This was my 2nd time running the newton fraction half marathon and enjoyed every minute of it. My 6th half marathon in total and by far my favourite. Beautiful scenery running along the canal heading out of town towards Belvoir castle on the horizon. 2 very challenging hills approx mile 6 and 11 which can catch people out. Long stretches of flat open road which is great to kick on in the race. Great support finishing inside the stadium also. Overall very enjoyable race and will be back next year without a doubt and recommend this one to put down in your calendars. Date of review: March 11, 2012
In short: Very enjoyable trail race. Great views. Friendly and well organised race for its debut. Will be back next year! In full: Enjoyable course with great scenery. Challenging at times with the multi terrain. Couple of steep hills towards the end. For its debut year it has great potential to be a big and popular race which I would recommend to put on your calendar. Have to mention all the great food which is waiting for you at the finish line.
