In short: Birds tweating, marshalls smiling, big shiny medal and perfect organisation - would more could you ask for!
In full: In my mind there simply aren't enough 20-mile races out there and every year this one brings a smile to my face for weeks afterwards.

Two laps through picture-perfect coutryside - a few ups and downs to keep things varied - unlimited parking and no delays in and out. I can't think of how they could improve on this - even the medal is one of the best I've seen around. I'm already looking forward to next year!

In short: Excellent organisation and fantastic atmoshpere - friendly marshalls, friendly runners and home made cakes at the end!
In full: I was a last minute entry to this (thankyou Brian) after enjoying the Surrey Spitfire 20 last Sunday and wanting more of the same - and wasn't disappointed!
Once again the two things that make this event really enjoyable are the clockwork organisation and the fantastic friendly atmoshpere.
Plenty of easy to find parking, lots of toilets, excellently marked course and enthusiastic friendly marhsalling. The 9-6-6 helped the mental count-down and I didn't even need to use my IPod (which is rare!)
A speacial mention to the marshall who shouted before the last killer hill (at mile 20!) - "one last hill and then its all downhill to the finish"... I wouldn't have made it up without that mantra in my head!
p.s. lovely homemade cakes!

In short: My favourite race of the year - great atmoshphere, stunning scenary, perfect organization - I left feeling all warm and glowy inside
In full: This is one of my favourite races of the year. For starters, the organization is excellent with unlimited parking, enough toilets, every mile well marked, lots of marshalls etc - all those little things that can really ruin your day if they're not done. Then there is the course itself - winding through stunning scenary with enough up and down to keep you challenged but not enough to cripple you! But what really makes this race is the atmoshphere - people are there to have fun and ENJOY the run and it really shows. I had some fantastic conversations ont he way round (Clive if you are reading this, 10 miles have never passed so quickly!), the marshall cheered us at every turn and the music and cheers at the end really made my day. Great medal and chocolate bars at the end - what more could you want!
I feel like I had a beautiful morning the countryside with a big groupd of frds - perfect marathon training!

In short: The worst race I have ever done - I spent initial 2 laps angry and thinking 'I am NEVER doing this again'. The big plus was it was on a Saturday - please can we have more Sat races!
In full: I wanted to do this race purely to run with a pacer - I'm trying to step up my speed and this flat course seemed ideal to run with a pacer and try to stick with them.
As per previous people - I arrived over an hour early to sit in traffic for about 45 mins and then park about 2k from the start. Severe lack of toilets meant I actually missed the (already delayed) start - as such any plans to run with a pacer went out the window and instead I started about 5 mins after the last group.
I spent the whole course overtaking... 4 laps of trying to get past people was enough to really test any patience and meant I spent the first half physically angry and repeating in my head 'I am NEVER doing this again'!
Unbelievable wind which the organisers coudlnt' help added to the misery
And then we finish to be given a tiny medal with no race name or date on. The worst memento I've received from any race.

The only good thing was this being held on a Saturday morning - and to any race organisers reading this - more Saturday races would be fantastic and definately make me enter over the same event on a sunday. It was great being able to go out on Sat evening for a meal or whatever you fancy without the overhang of knowing you ahd a race the next day! Why don't we have more event on a saturday (especially the smaller ones which peopel don't tend to travel for anyhow?)

In short: Chance to run the top gear track and then through beautiful scenary!
In full: A great race in preparation for an April marathon. This is the furthest I have ever run and I had been nervous about the upcoming London marathon...but the timing of this and completing it well inside expectations has lifted confidence no end!
The course was great - I liked the flat aerodrom start which thinned everyone out, and beautiful scenary for the rest. A few hills but nothing too bad
Only bad things were the place was really hard to find...we got lost 3 times. Also, I missed the start cos was waiting for the loos!
More than made up for by a fantastic shiny medal and lots of jelly babies on the way round though. Def plan to be back next year and skim a few mins off to get sub 2.45!
