In short: Excellent In full: Excellent race, nice atmosphere between the runners, spectators, locals & marshalls, brilliant value for money. I really liked the course, thought it was quite quick if anything with some good quality road particularly on the first lap, thank you very much to the volunteers especially in that weather, one of the best "no nonsense" races I've ever done & one of the best value, perfect for London, I'll be back to do this again, excellent. In short: Faultless In full: Probably my favourite road race. The course has a classic feel to it & I maintain that its fast as well, you are kind of left with no option but to tackle it aggressively which is IMO vastly superior to the plethora of HM's that boast about their "flat" ( boring ) courses. The vibe always seems to be really nice down there, even I left with a smile on my face which is unheard of, top organisation, volunteers & the crowds really seemed to show their appreciation for the effort you were putting in, moreso than at a lot of other events or so it seemed. 3 years in a row for me & I'll be back again next year, Wonderful. In short: Flat but underwhelimng............ In full: Definately would side with the more negative comments on here, it was definately flat but unspectacular ( dull ) also I agree, I thought there was a lot of jumping up & down kerbs & along rough paths, a lot of people seemed to run PB's though, so I doubt they are complaining. Marshalls & Spectators were great like they always are, these type of events seem to bring the best out in the human spirit. To be honest, I dont see myself doing this one again. In short: Proper old school English cross country running.................. In full: Wearing a pair of Saucony Kinvara's was an error & a pair of those Adidas Kanadia or Inov-8 / Norman Walsh's would have been a much better call, I was all over the place like an ice skater on that mud + puddles section just before the 1.5 mile incline / hill flint "path" towards the end. The first hill was literally too steep for me to run down properly & I'm not ashamed to admit that all three of us at the front walked up a lot of "the hill" at Halfway. Without wanting to blow my own trumpet, that is the first race I have ever won ( Park Run doesnt count ) & I must admit not a bad race to win! Quite an extraordinary race really & I cant wait to come back & do that race they do in February which must be an absolute bloodbath! Thanks to Pete & all of the Marshalls & people at the rugby club, a quite brilliant event. Date of review: August 29, 2011

In short: Quite Challenging In full: Really enjoyed this.
Think this would be quite a challenge for less experienced runners, some quite harsh sections none more so than the hill at 2 1/2 miles. Marshalls were great, HQ was very posh & the T-shirt was very trendy, all in all thumbs up from me, everyone involved should give themselves a pat on the back. Look forward to giving this a go in January when the weather could make it a much grimmer event! Date of review: April 3, 2011

In short: Great Event In full: Great event, well organised, excellent value for money, weather was perfect today.
Not as hard as I thought, plenty of downhills where you can hammer it & the "notorious" isnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. Only gripe is that you shouldnt give gels as grim as that out at the top of that hill, that was the hardest part of the race, running up to the crest of that hill & then trying to take down a gel with the consistency of crude oil. Cant think of a more inappropriate product to give out at that or any other part of the race.
Apart from that, give yourselves a pat on the back & a round of applause. Date of review: February 27, 2011

In full: Anyone thradld think that the people that give up their Sundays to put on these races on eat babies for breakfast, a bit OTT!
Just take the positives from it, which for me was that it was a good season starter, a high quality Tempo run that I wouldnt have done otherwise.
Just because you have a Garmin watch, that doesnt mean you are the oracle & the running worlds number 1 administrator, not what running is about IMO.
Having said all that, I would like to know EXACTLY what the distance we ran was from someone official ?
The Marshalls were excellent, every single one of them.
I think people should be grateful that they can go out there & have a good run like a lot of people did on Sunday.
I would do this race again, its a good early season tune up.
