In short: Very nice - except the rain !! In full: I ran this trail on a regular basis but never this far !!
I had not been able to train properly for this due to a nasty fall and although my time was not good it was a lot better than I thought I would do, which has given me back some confidence.
A nice race despite the weather this route is always lovely and the marshalls were all lovely and so kind to hang around for stragglers like me in all that rain. Medal was lovely one of my nicest, I did stop for food after as I can't eat after a marathon but what I saw looked nice. Good fuel stations with sweets and bananas etc (although the poor Jelly Babies had drowned at the last one in the park) and I forgot how much I love orange squash !! Date of review: August 25, 2013
In short: Enjoyable race and loved the finish In full: Need to make sure there is somewhere to leave your bag, I don't drive and my husband was a marshall so not with me at the start - thank you to the first aid people for looking after mine for me ! Besides that I thought it was a good challenging race, I did a poor time as I wasn't well so will have to retun next year. Date of review: March 18, 2013
In short: Very difficult to get to and quite dull In full: I did the Derby/Nottingham one back in 2010 and thought it was very good so was pleased to see a London one - trouble is I entered it before route confirmed so was not expecting it to be were it was. I found it dull and repetative with no support and very tricky to get to (I don't drive so my poor hubby got up to take me)The Marshalls handing out drinks were lovely and the medal was nice although much smaller than the 2010 one and with no year on it not even on the ribbon ! also back in 2010 I got a nice T-shirt included and there was a great finish (lovely food stores) - this felt like a non-event much more like a training run than a race Date of review: October 28, 2012
