In short: Fast circuit, some good scenery, average support In full: I chose to run in Cardiff (first time) for the flat course. It delivered that and I got a PB. Traffic in was congested and it could have been better marshalled for those not familiar with Cardiff. I was there at 8 and it still seemed a better idea to dump the car in a side street and walk down to the start point - this also made it easier getting out again. Baggage tents worked well. Starting pen was fine and no delay getting out onto the course (I was in yellow). Several pinch points along the course which must have got worse when the main swell of runners were coming through. Reasonable support but not a patch on Reading. Goody bag t-shirt was good, rest of contents pretty close to irrelevant. I'll be back but it's a yet a fixture of the season for me. In short: Good but should be better In full: The Portway 7 miles are a bit dull - even if they do have the Clifton Suspension Bridge - but it is useful to spread the pack and maintain your target pace. The oggy, oggy, oggy tradition in the tunnel is good fun. The last 3 miles through town seem under-supported and the twists and turns break your stride. It can be very difficult to get back across to the University side of town after the race. Date of review: October 8, 2012

In short: Great organisation, good route, more cheers from the crowd, please! In full: Really well organised - all city races should learn from this one. My route planning and running watch both think it's longer than 13.1 miles but a good circuit. Agree with the need for clearer mile markers for the last 2 miles, especially countdown markers. Crowd was fine but nothing on the enthusiasm and support of Reading Date of review: September 14, 2011
