In short: A great run around mashed up cars and burnt out buildings! In full: This was a nice, flat, speedy race in some of the most unusual settings. All around the course are various burnt out buildings, mashed up cars, overturned lorries and rusting aeroplanes! As the race is located at the Fire Service college where trainees tackle fires and practice rescuing people from all of the above. As a result the race was'nt boring as there was always something to look at. Slight complaint however was that wern't enough mile markers. Date of review: April 11, 2010

In short: Brill! Sums it all up really! In full: This was the first staging of this race and it has to a resounding success! The entry limit said 300 yet 400 plus entered without problems and there was even room for another 100! Great start, running through the town centre with all roads closed off to traffic, lovely scenery running alongside a large stretch of the River Avon and nice finish in the the spacious Crown Meadow. All the marshalls were helpful and very supportive. The route also took in a council estate where residents came out of their homes to cheer on runners and a caravan site where again support was very vocal. The whole thing centred around Evesham and no matter where you were you never felt too far away from the finish! Also loved the jazz band which we passed a couple of times. All in all, an exceptional debut meeting!!! Date of review: July 14, 2008

In short: Blimey that goody bag was heavy!!! In full: Fantastic race. Lovely scenery thru chocolate box villages and especially liked the trail run past the lake. All the marshalls were friendly and helpful. The start was a bit hectic but that had more to do with the football pitch being out of bounds. Great goody bag with lots of treats and a nice trophy/memento for all finishers. Well done to all! Date of review: June 22, 2008

In short: They should've called it "The Sheepy Six!" In full: Nice race over a nice course. Loved the off-road stuff, not too demanding but just rough enough to make it interesting. As I passed 5 miles I could hear lots of commotion coming from the finish, I thought it was the crowd cheering home the runners but as I got closer I realised it was more bloody sheep! One slight moan, it was difficult to get into stride at the start as I was forever running into tiny kids in the fun run! Date of review: April 2, 2007

In short: Cracking turn-out for quite a small race In full: This is my local race so my views are some what biased, but for a fairly low-key event the organisation is spot on, the course is scenic/quick, the atmosphere is cheery, the cakes on sale after were scrumptious, the waterbottle prize was nice and I reckon the other 349 people (record turnout) in the race had fun too! In short: The hills are alive with the sound of grunting! In full: There are those of you out there who have probably run tougher courses but for a newbie like me this was torture. A steep hill start (my car dosen't even do hill starts like that one) set the par for the course. Then a horrific downhill section, which made the Cheese Rolling look like child's play, followed by another major hill climb. If anyone didn't walk that bit then they're freaks! There was a lovely flat bit right on top but then another sheer face climb left not only my face blue but my language as well! Lovely scenery though and a special thanks to Cleeve Hill wardens who set up an impromptu water station half way round. The hardest and most fun I've had in ages. Date of review: June 7, 2006

In short: Did he have to play that music so bloody loud?!? In full: Not a bad run. It went through residential areas but these were quite nice areas so it felt like a rural run. I did the three laps and as others had said it would have been nice to have some markers on the course. My only gripe is that the first woodland section went along very narrow footpaths and this caused some conjestion problems particulary at the start. I also managed to collide with a frontrunner overtaking me on the second lap but there wasn't much space to let him pass. He wasn't very happy! Date of review: June 5, 2006

In short: Downhill all the way - my kind of race! In full: I was suprised as to how flat the course was. We started running down a huge hill, after that the only slopes we faced was the occasional canal bridge. One gradual climb at the end (not too taxing) and that was it. I set a PB by more than 2 minutes and that would have been 4 if I had'nt have stopped to wee in a bush (I'm still new to this running lark!) Very enjoyable. Date of review: May 30, 2006
