In full: Potential for a good time here as not really any significant hills to speak of. If you like green fields & country lanes then this run is not for you. It is housing estate & industrial estate. That said it is a fab day out as is run in conjunction with the Gala...lots of stalls, massive fun fair, classic cars...you name it, it's there. Could do with a bit of a longer prize list...2nd, 3rd, Vets?? Lots of support from marshalls & locals. A well organised first race. Keep it going.

In full: A large field of very good runers always guaranteed here. More ups than downs, so not really a PB course. Excellent organisation. The t-shirt seems to have divided people this year, but it made me smile & reminds you of those HILLS!! Prize structure is excellent...for those who are nifty enough on their pins...but pace is fast. More races should follow Barnsley's example with prizes. It keeps us regulars coming back!
Just two gripes. The fellow announcing the winners at the end spoke too quickly & not clearly enough for anyone to hear properly unless you were stood right next to him looking at the results sheet! & lastly, chip times need to be included on the results sheets which are posted out for 50p.

In full: Steep hill in 1st km, a lesser one at around 3k, but then all you have to look out for is a few 'speed bumps' (mean't for cars, but designed to catch runner's out also!)& then, after 6k, just relax & let gravity help you on the good downhill sections to 9k & then it's flat to finish. Well organised, nice T-shirt, & for those bargain hunters among us, come a bit earlier & have a nosy round the car boot sale that's usually held at the club house.

In full: This is a nice little run for those who prefer the shorter distance & for anyone new to the sport. There's an incline at the beginning & end of the course but the middle bit is down/flat & is on very quiet minor roads. You get a good cheer from the Morton folk & race organiser 'ASH' ensured that nothing was lacking considering he only had a small support team. In it's 3rd year now. Deserves a better turnout & with children's race held an hour after 6k gives parents a chance to run with their kids too. In the heat of summer this is a distance which won't kill anyone & I for one will be back next year!
