In short: 2012 marathon In full: a great first 13 miles with plenty runners about but it was a lonely last 13 after the half marathoners finished. i found that whilst running the second half i was never really sure where i was going as alot of the painted arrows on the ground seemed to vanish until the last 2-3 miles. that said i always love running next to the sea so loved miles 11 to 22; if only it wasnt so windy along the front my legs might have held out a bit longer. dont think i'll be back next year only cause of the 6 hour round trip in the car is just to far. In short: best day ever In full: this was my 8th marathon of the year so far and my far the best, this road runner is def converted. yes it was hard the the rewards great - the scenery was out of this world when the rain subsided. the underfoot conditions were quite bad but this seemed to make the miles float by. sign me up for next year. only thing was the course was short; i made it 25.5 so not a marathon Date of review: July 2, 2012

In short: lancaster castle marathon???? seen the castle from 2 miles away! In full: the scenery really was good - its nice to lift ur head now and again to take it all in. for a marathon that was ran through the middle of nowhere the people who came out to support us all really do deserve the medals - good on u'z. i would do this again however i wouldn't put it at the top of the list as a must do.
the route was hard, some big hills, mile 18 was a killer. the price was steep considering there was no traffic control or road closures. a real lack of information before the race - its the first time i've drove to a race not 100 percent sure it was even on (all i got was 1 e-mail with a time and place!). In short: above average race In full: this was a very hot day, it took me more than 90 mins more than usual to complete this marathon but it is a fast course - just not for me on the day. the only points i would make is that i like to park at the finish on a point to point race then travel to the start however with the roads closing at 8.00 for the half marathon it ment a very early start for me. the half being moved to the sat would be very benificial. its also a very long walk back to the car from the finish line. all in all - would i do it again : yes. but i would take another marathon if it was closer to home. it wasn't anything special im affraid Date of review: June 1, 2012

In short: good flat course with a big p.b potential In full: loved the day, my 2nd marathon, no goodies (energy drinks/gels) on the way round so had to carry ur own. goody bag was a bit dissapointing as with all flydecoast running events - but wasn't here for the goody bag anyways. a bit of a let down when it was advertised as a 1 lap course then ended up a 2 lap course but all in all it was a great day knocking 25 mins off my last marathon. would do it next year if its back on Date of review: March 11, 2012
