In short: Pain - Delight - Pain
In full: First time out for BHF and Warwick castle and I would suggest if this were a marriage then they would be seeing RELATE this morning!

PAIN - I was very fortunate that despite getting caught up in all the traffic issues at the start I just made it to the start line(at 9.09)–I really do sympathise with those that didn’t. Next time, if there is a next time for this “happy” couple I suggest like others a Park and Ride system would be useful… Alternatively call it the BHF Warwick Racecourse Half Marathon; I imagine they would know how to put an event on with that many people expected.

DELIGHT - The course itself was great, I really enjoyed it. I do a lot of my training around the villages of South Leicestershire and it was a pleasure to be out there. Big thank you to those that supported en route, to the marshals and drink station volunteers.

PAIN - Lastly and it can’t be avoided – the fiasco at the end. ITV take note a new series for you “Skating in Cars”

In short: Second time out and may Birthday as well.
In full: Ran the Leicester Half Marathon last year and that was my first ever Half. Much excitment coming back again to run my in my home city and Leicester didn't let me down. A great day - in fact my Birthday, so I had to get a PB and at 2:17:36 I got the present I wanted (well cuffed). Leicester might not be the most scenic of runs but once you get into Watermead Park and back along the canal to Abbey Park it's great. With Jackie (my wife), Chris(my son), Alicia (my soon to be Daughter in law) singing Happy Birthday to me as a came up to the finish, that made the day. My other Son Dan finsihed in 1:32:40..Don't you just hate the youngsters ....

In short: The title says it all - GREAT RUN
In full: Amazing day, superb organisation from start to finish. First GNR, watched it from my "bed" for many years and didn't think I would ever be part of it let alone run it. The crowds were fantastic, cheering you all the way round. The last mile was awesome. Ace display by the Red Arrows to cap it off.
