In short: Beautiful views but a bit lonely
In full: Great race, great vistas, great weather!!!
I got a PB, very happy with dipping under 3h50 on the undulating course.
Badged as the "friendliest" marathon but in my opinion it isn't. There is virtually no crowd apart from the last mile due to its location. I love the support of the crowd so this was a bit of a downside for me in an otherwise great day.
I'll stop moaning now.

In short: Amazing and tough
In full: Over the moon with 28th place and loved the tough hill. Great value as you get free entry to the Belton horse trials which costs £15 per adult.

In short: Great race(as usual), killer hills
In full: Great stadium start/finish. Great flat wide roads, canal towpath and the killer hills all add up to a great race. Despite choosing to walk up both the hills I still managed a respectable 1h45m.

In short: Great and challenging
In full: I loved it and I was over the moon to finish 52nd out of 700 odd. The course was enough of a challenge to keep you focused.
The only gripe was the section where you ran head to head with other runners. Some of the slower/less experienced runners ran head down not aware that we were flying downhill towards them.
Other than that it was great!!!!

In short: Great race, NASTY hill
In full: Great value as you get entry to the Belton Horse trial which I think would have cost £15 per adult!!
The race was excellent, the hill to the Bellmont tower was nasty but whats the point if you are not going to challenge yourself.
I advise everyone to do this race next year.

In short: Good atmosphere, organisation a bit of a joke considering the cost
In full: The atmosphere, support and the topography of the course were excellent. However, the start and start facilities are a joke considering the money it costs to enter. There was insufficient toilets(particularly mens urinals which would speed the queues up a lot)and the less said about the ludicrous journey to the starting pens the better, the bottleneck was a joke. I managed to get to the start with 2 minutes to spare but thousands of people were behind me at this point. The starting area itself is too small to accommodate 15,000 runners and famillies at the same time. At certain points of the course the width was too narrow to fit the amount of runners but we all had fun trying to avoid the thousands of pointless cones laid out down the middle of most of the roads!!
Despite my moans I enjoyed the experience but I wouldnt do it again. Charge a lower entry fee or improve the start and start area.

In short: Great but challenging race!!!!
In full: I knocked 4 mins off last years time so I am cock-a-hoop!!!
I agree with other reviewers, BRING BACK THE HOODY, the red jumper is ok but hoodies are better pre/post race wear. I also got covered in a ridiculous amount of red fluff after wearing the jumper.
Everything else was great, the cheese bap at the end was great.

In short: Good race hot weather
In full: According to the Edinburgh marathon official site they had a lot of water/Lucozade stolen. This is not their fault; in difficult circumstances they did a good job. Next year the drinks will have a armed guard.
Excellent race, acheived a PB!!!

In short: Brilliant
In full: Cannot criticise this race at all. Considering it was in a small village everything was good. The start wasn't that muddy (contrary to what others have written)and running on the grass only lasted for a couple of hundred metres, what hardship!!!
To all of those who said the "finish was hidden",if you had been paying attention at the start you would of noticed the large yellow FINISH signs and timing chip mats next to the start line area.
The glass block memento at the end was amazing.
The water stations were also good considering you are in the middle of the countryside.
Lets be positive about small races and not criticise for criticising sake!!!!!!
