In short: Brilliant course, great organisation, fantastic marshalls
In full: Yet another great Colchester Half marathon!

The slight route change from the previous year worked well and as with the previous year running through the town centre makes for a great first few miles.

Used it as a warm up for London this year and it really helped to build up the excitement levels running in such a well-organised race with brilliant crowd support. The weather may not have been perfect but the crowds were out, especially at the finish.

In short: Great new route and fantastic organisation as always.
In full: The new route really made a difference this year. Last time was my first half and this time I really enjoyed having a route that was less rural.

Running through the town centre provided a great atmosphere (despite the added hill!) and a feeling that the race was integrated into the town.

The marshals provided brilliant support all the way around the course, at one point I rounded a corner expecting there to be a dozen of them and it was just two!

Route difficulty was still on the easy side of things, even though there were more hills this year they were early enough on that powering through them was a realistic option and none of them were so long you lost hope of ever reaching the top.

Looking forward to next year already :)

In short: Good flat course, great scenery, fantastic organisation
In full: Really great first half-marathon, thank you! The atmosphere and organisation were fantastic and everything went off without a hitch. Will definitely be here again next year and it has spurred me on to take part in more half-marathons!
