In short: A good city run worth the experience
In full: This was my first Cardiff Half, and I did enjoy the experience of a city run.
I was bit surprised with the crowds of non-runners around the runners village, this could be kept clear for the runners only. The lack of toilets was a bit of a problem, luckily I found a shopping centers open but still had to queue.
The race start was congested due to the narrow road and also getting into the pens due to the number of non runners being in the way.
It was hard to hear the start of the race, even being a short way back. it was hard to get into a pace until after 3 miles, The water stations could have been better prepared and organised and I believe the energy drinks ran out.
The use of the city roads but the drag up and back along the dual carriageway was a bit of a drag but the crowds managed to get to places you least expected.
The shirt and medal was good but the tube of toothpaste made the race worth running.
More medium shirts next year though!
I so enjoyed this race, that I came home and booked myself a final half for the year.

In short: For my first half, I'm glad I did it, Well organised and good support
In full: From arriving at the event we were guided to the car park which had plenty of room.
From just a short walk around to the central gathering point, whereby you could get a drink, watch a display of Zumba, leave your bag at the bag drop off point, having changed in the covered tents & even arrange a service on your heating system.
It was soon down to the starting line, unfortunately, we could were unable to hear the starter and his words of encouragement.(the only negative)
We're off and through the town we head with very good support from the locals and coffee drinking shoppers. The roads then headed off into the country lanes, well guided by a good support of marshals and drinks stations at every 3 mile point. Then before you know it you are heading down the last mile back into the school with the cheer of both locals and friends and family.
Through the line and you get your medal, goodie bag and banana, you are back into the middle with the relief it's over.
A great race and anyone wanting to have a go at a half should consider this one next year.
Well Done!

In short: A great race, well organised with excellent marshaling along the way.
In full: For a first time event, it was well organised. A run with a good mixture of terrains and challenging hill just after your mile warm up.
Back at the finish, you were given a medal and a choice of chocolate bar. Showers were available but, could help if there was warm water, not the cold water I had.
I never saw the presentation or any mention of it. I believe there was also refreshments but again never saw those.
On the whole this was a good race and I hope to see it on the calender again next year maybe with better turnout.
