In short: I love this Race
In full: OK the weather was horrible this year but it is in December so what do you expect the PB potential is great and the closed roads are a big bonus. the t-shirt needs improving cotton T-shirts aren't running t-shirts. the only other thing I would improve is some kind of baggage storage

In short: Could do better
In full: Looking at the other comments I did not have a problem at all collecting my number and I always have my own safety pins so no problem there. the water was my main problem they seemed very close together 5 7 10 miles not 3 6 9 as promised on there web site on of the friendliest races I have done though but you have to chat as yes its a fast course but it is so very boring. the other little problem I had was the announcements at the beginning people trying to shout over 500+ people just doesn't work I didn't hear a word and I was stood pretty close to them. overall a very average race as for the timing it was spot on so no clompaints there

In short: If it wasn't for the wind this would of been fantastic
In full: this was harder than my marathon last year. The course is amazing seeing 500+ runners spread out across the sand was trully a stunning view and definately a run to do at some point in your running life. but with the wind in your face for most of the race and about the only time it wasn't you were wading through waist deep water it is a very tough but very enjoyable run. Im glad I got talked into doing it. As for doing it again if there was entries on the day so you could check the weather before hand yes I would.

In short: Love this race
In full: I love this run even though I really felt like I wasn't going to complete it this year one day I will run up every hill. brilliantly organised loads of water stations all well signed and just a great atmoshpere the marshals are great and the support although there is not a lot really keeps you going and after the first 6 miles you can then enjoy the the scenery. will definately be back again next year

In short: What a fiasco
In full: I didn't actually run the race but was part of the press there and I ended up helping out in the VIP tent where we were letting people in to warm up and get some medical attention. my friend was marshall on the door and she got very stressed out on what should of been an enjoyable day I really couldn't believe the reports I was hearing from the baggage area. I would hate to think what would of happened if all 8000 had turned up.

In short: harder than I thought mostly off road
In full: enjoyed the views but the steep descents and short sharp climbs really hurt. thanks to all the cadets on the water stations and the little girl with the jelly babies at the 22 mile mark. I also agree with the 24 mile mark I thought I had got lost
