In short: Really Great race this year, can't wait till next! In full: Organisation was really good, I'd say better than last year but it always seems organised. The route changed again and the steep hills were both welcome and challenging. Not a flat 10k which a beginner might struggle with but it's better than plodding along.
This year we got actual tech t-shirts, whereas last year I felt jipped. Kinda wish there was a finishers medal as well- like the fun run, you can't have everything but for the price definitely worth it. Got a 10k PB today and very muddy- so worth it!
Can't wait till next year! Date of review: April 22, 2012

In short: Had a good day but could have been alot tougher for the money. In full: The atmosphere and organisers were amazing and you could see they'd put a lot of effort in but I expected it to be solid after the safety briefing. From comments from other racers I think it was harder than last year but I feel had it been tougher, it would have been a bit more of an experience.
I was a bit gutted there wasn't a medal and as a woman I didn't get a technical t-shirt but a vest top.
The water station could have been more prominant as it was pointed out to me after I'd finished the race.
St John's ambulance were amazing after the race (yeah I was a bit broken afterwards) and I loved that you could print off your result immediately after the race. I really appreciated the mars bar in the goody afterwards, the metallic blanket and the burger van was amazing.
All in all; there were pros and cons and I know that next year will be a little tougher, it's probably me I'm a huge fan of obstacle races so might be a bit harsh. For a beginner- it would be a good obstacle race to start with. Date of review: September 25, 2011

In short: I gained a PB on this one so I'm a huge fan! In full: As previously mentioned I managed to gain a personal best from this one. I didn't intend to as I was on Holiday and joined up for a laugh with a few mates.
The organisation was superb. I recieved a T shirt (being one of the first 100 to sign up) and upon completion recieved a medal (which was unexpected) and a memento figurine.
The run out for the first 2 miles was nice and flat (but the signs had blown round in the wind so I had no idea how far I'd run at that point)I didn't quite expect there to be so much up hill between 2 and 4 miles but the views made it worth while.
All organisers and participants were lovely, supporting each other by sticking around and clapping (I think the BBQ helped!)
All in all - a fantastic race and one that I'm hoping to go down south for again next year! Date of review: June 18, 2011

2011 One Bolton 5k Legacy Event
 | | Overall score | | 60% | | Would you do it again? | | Yes | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 40% | | PB potential | | 80% | | Atmosphere | | 80% | | Organisation | | 80% | | Value | | 80% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 80% |
In short: Very well organised, great atmosphere and an event for all the family. In full: The map of the run was clearly advised to all at the start on a large screen and there were maps dotted around the venue to look at. The warm up was more of a fun exercise to get everybody in high spirits. In order to provide accurate times a chiptiming process would have been handy, suited more for casual runner. Having to pass the water station twice on a 5k might seem odd but was more than welcome on a hot stuffy day like yesterday. Overall- event was great and will enjoy next year's and might pop along to another event this year. Date of review: May 9, 2011
