In short: Gorgeous scenery, well organised, stonking hill at 7k!
In full: I really enjoyed this event - it was my first time but I now intend to make it a yearly ritual.

It was well organised with very friendly marshalls and volunteers, great support around the course coupled with glorious scenery in the off the beaten track sections.

I was aware that there were a couple of corking hills from friends who have raced the course before but I wasn't sure when to expect them which made for a slightly anxious ("is this THE hill or is that still to come?") run I look forward to running it again next year with a better knowledge of the course.

There was quite a lot of hype about previous medals so I was slightly let down by what I was presented with, it does have a nice picture but it is very very poor quality.

In short: Lovely course, organisation could be improved
In full: This was my second half marathon and all the hype indicated that it was going to be a good one (my previous one having been quite small). It was a lovely day and the scenery was beautiful, I'll be going back to Cambridge again.

There were quite a few things the organisers need to work on though, one major thing being the toilet situation - around 15 portaloos for 3,000 runners just isn't good enough, people were queueing for at least 30 minutes to get in and as other reviewers have said, some people missed the start - I had to stop at one of the 2 portaloos 1 mile in (on the second loop after I spotted them too late on the first loop!) and so added a minute extra to my chip time.

And there lies the second issue, the timing's were all out - my watch time, chip time and gun time are all different (2:00:48 watch, 2:01:35 chip and 2:02:20 gun) - having read the pre race info and the raving of the "latest RFID chip timing system" I was expecting much more accuracy.

Lastly, agree with the others regarding the last 3 miles, not ideal and pretty demotivating seeing so many people coming towards you, even more so when you veer off to the right and realise you have an extra loop, not just out and back!!!

Overall a great day out but the organisation could be very much improved.

Oh, also the goody bag was rubbish, the medal lovely and the post race massage well received!
