In short: When they say it’s a hilly route they mean it. In full: This is defiantly a hard run, some of the downs are as harsh as the ups. Great setting, scenery and marshalling made for an enjoyable run with a big sense of achievement. The dry weather was a plus. Hope to do it next year.

In short: A beautiful picturesque race In full: A beautiful picturesque race. Not the easiest 10k race due to the long up hill and sharp off road decent but defiantly worth a go. Take it easy and enjoy the views or push it hard for a challenge. The atmosphere at the finish line was fantastic.

In short: Very good PB potential In full: This was a great evening run. Even with the very windy conditions I was within 2 min of my PB thanks to the very flat route. The start was a little cramped and took me 50 seconds to cross the start line but no real problems. The turnout was great and a very friendly atmosphere with the last few hundred meters was a hard push into the wind. Hopefully next year without the wind my PB will be well and truly beaten. In short: Hot and Hilly In full: This was my first Half Marathon so a PB was guaranteed.
The course was easy to follow and being tracks mostly stable under foot, tho the tracks did finish off my road shoes. The hills can be hard work and I made the error of starting off at my 10K pace (473m total elevation). It was a little to hot for me and the wind was never helpful, but the scenery and the views at the half way point were fantastic. Will I be back for next year? Defiantly, but for the full Mara hopefully.
Thanks to all the supporters and marshals along the way.

In short: Great PB potential In full: The start was a little confused, people were still moving to the start position as the race started. The first few Km were a little cramped but ensured a warm up pace. Some of the distance markers could be easily missed. But over all a good course with a short but noticeable climb at 7Km. The final 2Km had a steady 25m decent helping towards an easy sprint finish. Total Accent 54m. A PB is very much achievable with this course and with the friendly environment I will be back next year. The mug has been relegated to the back of the cupboard as a crack appeared after the 3rd cup of tea. Nice idea tho. Date of review: April 15, 2011
