In short: Scenic but never ever worth £35 due to 'fat feets' shortfalls! In full: What a lovely setting with a scenic and very challenging route! This had the potential to be the race of the year due to its setting but the organisers clearly saw this as a vast money making exercise!I've sent fat feet an email and left feedback on runners world!
In this day and age no toilet facilities, water in cups and a generic vest top with no reference to the marathon along with a blank certificate was clearly a cheapskate effort and in fairness I've partaken in local club runs for less than a tenner with greater facilities and rewards.
A wholly disappointing race but with potential for so much more. You really need to up your game 'fat feet' and look after your customers or rebrand yourself 'fat wallet'.
Just worthy of note were the cadets and marshalled who despite the weather did a grand job with what they had in the terrible weather. Date of review: November 5, 2012

In short: Excellent organisation, good medal and t-shirt. Friendly atmosphere from start to finish! In full: Flat course with great scenery. Don't underestimate the weather though, it was hellishly hot but the other factor to bear in mind is the wind (there is a wind farm en route for a reason) and the stretch between miles 3 and 8 is very open to the elements and very lonely in terms of crowd support. That said the locals provided great support throughout and it is by far the best organised race I have taken part in this year with groups of marshalls everywhere who took the time to encourage every one of us! Well done Mablethorpe, you did yourselves proud today! Date of review: October 2, 2011

In short: A very well organised race in delightful surroundings with a friendly atmosphere! In full: First time at a smaller club race and I have to say I was very impressed. The organisation of the race was fabulous with plenty of friendly, encouraging marshalls along the route. The route was in itself very flat and there is excellent opportunity to clock yourself a personal best without fail. It was of multi terrain consisting of tarmac, gravel type paths and some cobbles up near the castle. This is definitely on my racing calendar for next year. Well done to all involved in organising the race for us to enjoy, you did yourselves proud. Date of review: June 5, 2011
