In short: Fantastic.
In full: This was a really a challenging run, climbing 1000 feet. You certainly need to keep your wits about or you would end up going to hospital via the Mountain Rescue Team. Surprisingly, I did not slip once when I could keep jumping rock to rock, the Millstone Grit provides excellent grip. But between the rocks it was really dicey. The chap in front of me fell into the boulders at the side but rolled parachute style and was only cut slightly. There was a nice rest at 0.8 miles when 300 people queued to cross the single track ford across the stream. Just after that was some good deep mud capable of pulling your shoes off. Fantastic atmosphere and views. I think I'll buy some trail shoes for next year's race! Even my son-in-law who hates mud, rocks and mountains would do this if I could explain what cracking good fun this was. Many thanks to the organisers, mountain rescue, police and walkers who kept us safe and cheered us on.
