In short: Not great...
In full: First timer on a half-marathon: after a number of 10k, I tought I would run this race to test myself at a pace of 8mins/mile on a longer distance. From this perspective, it worked.
Now, for the rest: I thought the parking situation was terrible, it created a stress when it is the last thing you need. To top it all, I finally joined the start at around 10.10, being told off by official for not moving quick enough to the start. And then waited another 8 minutes in the chilly wind. I thought the overall atmosphere was inexistant. Two good things worth mentioning: the pacemakers, mine was spot on and friendly enough, and the drink stations, consistently well manned.

In short: Play misty for me!
In full: Yes, it was misty and cold, but I thought that provided an almost mystic atmosphere especially along the tow path. Excellent flat course, good organisation, plenty of portaloos. Maybe some marshalls should show a bit more enthusiasm, but hey, it was cold...

In short: Nice but...
In full: ... it would be good to organise the waves by abilities: if you're not in the first wave, forget about PB ambition, too many slow runners will slow you down in the first 2kms

In short: Fast and pleasant race
In full: Ham is a nice setting for a 10k: it is flat, away from any significant traffic on the road, and the riverside is scenic. Organisation was good before the race, shame that some markers were difficult to spot (I could not find the important 6k and 7k ones, but was told later they existed by GPS armed runners!). The one hairpin is definitely a pain in the neck but otherwise good course. Ah, yes, change this finish on the grass, it is heart and time breaking.
