In short: A well organised event which was both fun and challenging.
In full: A very reasonable entry fee in support of a great charity. The course measured 26.2 miles on my Garmin so any concerns over the accuracy of the route should be put to bed! The marshals were excellent and there were plenty of well stocked drink stations throughout the well marked route. Free tea, coffee, squash etc and a free bouncy castle made this a great family event.
To top it off my 4 year old daughter lost my medal on the way home! When we contacted the organiser to purchase another one he sent us 2 free of charge (one for me and my little girl). Can’t ask for more than that.
See you next year.

In short: Well organised with a relatively fast route.
In full: I ran this event in the spring and am pleased to say I enjoyed it just as much this time round. Being new to running the relatively small field of mainly club runners can seem intimidating, however once you’ve joined the crowd at the start you soon realise it’s a very friendly event. Additionally; facilities for spectators with young kids was excellent.
It might have been my imagination but did the race start early? My wife made her way to the finish at 11.45 but I was already in so she missed me and I’m no 44 minute 10k runner I can assure you!

In short: Challenging but worthwhile
In full: My first marathon so a bit daunting to begin with however all the competitors and marshals were very friendly so soon got into my stride. With a bit of research the hills should not come as a surprise to anyone and, as I’d built them up to be monsters in my head, were actually quite manageable in comparison. As mentioned on previous reviews you can find yourself running on your own once the half marathon has split off but in my experience these instances were generally short lived.
I would do it again.
