In short: Fantastic race and best value event I have done
In full: Great communication prior to event. Easy registration and good quality coffee van to get a brew before the race.

Course is as flat as you can get with one minor climb through Great Eccleston. If it doesn't blow then this is definite PB potential.

Race is cheap to enter so getting a huge chocolate bar, bottle of water, hat, medal and hot pot at the end makes you marvel at the value. Hats off to Alan this is a great event and the start/finish was made better than year 1. With an organiser who listens to feedback and knows what runners want I can only see this event going from strength to strength.

In short: Cheap as chips race that delivers a flat half and is well organised.
In full: Park and ride was a great addition, and operated smoothly.

Good HQ and nice to be able to get a brew and bacon butty at the end.

Great route and on a calm day it is PB city.

Presentation was poor and missed a few prizes. Think more care should be taken to get this right.

Referee maybe should have a few lessons in manners. He may find 'shut your gob' a jovial term but he just appeared to me to be obnoxious.

In short: Could and should have been so much better
In full: Crowd support on a terrible day was amazing.

Don't like having to go day before to get number for a half, route is dull and doesn't show Preston at its best, twice on the half the field had to run across the back/front markers and to cap it all due to a cock up the switch back at 8.5 miles was extended incorrectly and the course was long!!!!

In short: Good route, amazing crowds, where is my f**king bag!!!
In full: Good stuff:
1. Fast route
2. Like the off road bit and in good conditions it would be a lovely change. However in rain it is a trail route
3. Zones at start allowed me to get straight into race pace
4. Lots of water and fuel on course
5. Plenty of toilets at start and on route
6. Crowds were bloody amazing and better than London or GNR.....I doff my cap to you.
7. Couldn't find my bag so went to refreshment area and a kindly man gave me his brew, think he saved my life.

Bad stuff:
1. Baggage area!!!!
2. Numbers not being sent out. I don't want to pay an extra fiver to avoid going to a shitty expo.

If they can sort out what are really two straight forward bad points then I would consider returning as I think on a good day this would be the quickest marathon around.

In short: Well organised. Fast course if the wind stays away!
In full: This is a really good race and is very well organised. The only area for improvement for me would be the baggage area which was really just a pile of bags and in no way secure.

Like most Fylde races, if the wind stays away the course will be fast.

In short: Very well organised and a pretty quick route
In full: This is a flat course and a bit like links golf the only protection on offer to the course is the wind. It did blow a bit this year so was harder work than the previous year. Great way to start the year.

In short: Very well organised and a pretty quick route
In full: Parked away from leisure centre and walked in so missed traffic in and out of car park, would do that again. Stuck bag in a locker and had a brew and flapjacj for £1.20. Race start was a little unclear but no great shakes.

Course is flat except the section between 6-8.5 miles when you get a bit of up and down. Track finish is nice and there was sandwich at 50p a go which was very good value. However, I wandered over to leisure centre for a bacon buttie. Good event and will hopefully be back next year.

Thanks to all involved.

In short: Flat and sandy
In full: Great course that is as flat as a pancake. There is about 2 miles on the beach, but this was pretty compact so doesn't slow the pace much, if at all.

£15 is steep for a 10k compared to other local races, however there was free parking and access to DW Leisure, so I had a message, steam room and swim for free.

In short: This event has the wow factor.
In full: Amazing views and it is pretty much all run on trails. However, if you are thinking of doing this then be aware it is very hilly and the rocky parts of the course are not only hard to descend they bloody well hurt your feet :)

I thought it was a well run event but I would say you can get better value for money at the Long Distance Walkers Association events. Well worth doing.
