In short: A break from the norm, something different
In full: I enjoyed myself so much, the rain and the mud made this event so much better. It was a nice break from the road and trying to get a good time, just took it a lap at a time until I had been up THE HILL 20 times. Thanks also to Rory the organiser for his support.

In short: Lap 1 easy, Lap 2 hard, Lap 3 on your way home.
In full: This is a pleasant enough marathon, not a bad way to start the year. The weather was spot on,I believe this made the run a little bit easier than maybe it would of been with typical January weather.Parking was not a major problem as others have said, you have to remember the race was in the countryside. The mile run/walk to the start surely could not of been a problem considering the field was made up of marathon and ultra runners. Come on! Anyway finishing at a pub must of made up for it.
