In short: Well organised race on a mostly flat course
In full: Second time round for me this year after watching my wife run it for 2 years. Always impressed with the organisation and support received from the public in this race. Only gripe was that I pre ordered a race t-shirt but they did not have my size in stock. Strange.

Otherwise the race is a good one. Nice flat course (apart from 3 railway crossings in the last 6 Kms). Well manned water stations and sponges (x3). Nice medal and OK goody bag (mars bar, water and oranges). Plenty of car parks. Information, chips, numbers all sent out very early. And always run in beautiful weather!

Did this as part of preparation for VLM as I suspect many others did too. I will be back!

In short: Well organised race on a challenging course
In full: Well organised event. Smallish field (286). Plenty of water stations. Nice medal and goody bag. Fantastic marshalls.

Club runners dominated the race as it was included as Kent County Championship race. They were all very supportive of the back markers which was great.

For me, the course was challenging. Very undulating! First half takes you up and down the promenade and cliff top. Catches up with you in the second half. Very scenic though on the seafront and nice sandy beaches at that end (heading towards Broadstairs). The second half (heading towards Sandwich) was flatter with only a few rises. Not much scenery out that way.

Used this for training for the London Marathon. Definitely serves its purpose for that!

In short: Well organised race but was it too long again?
In full: Second time running this one and again it delivered. Well organised; well supported; scenic route by the sea; plenty of water and energy drinks which was brilliant and well-manned; fantastic marshalls. For such a big field, the organisation was brilliant.

Nice medal again; goody bag was decidedly average (Mars Bar and packet of crisps).

Lastly, my Nike+ watch measured the course at 21.7Km...nobody else has said anything so I'm guessing I've taken the long way around!

Will be back next year.

In short: Still a good 'un
In full: Back for a second time. A favourite race for me. Well organised, nice course, well supported.

Perfect running conditions - about 3 degrees by start time.

Again had the goodies at the finish line - kit kats, jaffa cakes and energy bars. Medal not as nice as last year's.

Will be back!

In short: Well organised fun feel good race
In full: Second time round for me. Perfect weather conditions this time (1 degree last year!). Majority of runners got into the spirit of the season with santa suits, hats, elves suits etc. Great to see.

Flattish course, one rise at the beginning which means a nice downhill run to finish line! 1 water water station.

Great medal. Nice warm mulled wine, mince pies and pudding greeting to you at the end.

Another job well done to the organisers, Nice Work. Merry Christmas!

In short: Excellent race, course, organisation - but that WIND!
In full: Second time round for me and everything went as it did in 2011 - including that WIND! Nice when it was at your back but definitely used up petrol fighting against it. Of course the organisers cant do anything about that!

The course is a good quick one. The organisation brilliant (from numbers being sent out early; informative website; great car park marshalls; course marshalls; updating notices on Facebook; baggage/changing facilities). The medal is fantastic and the goody bag is the best you'll ever get anywhere.

The only reason why I say I wont run this again is because of the travel. Living in Kent, I am sticking with races in Kent and Sussex.

Easily the best race I have run in. Well done to the organisers.

In short: Fast flat course; well organised;
In full: Ran this in 2011 and 2012. Very quick course along the seafront. Perfect for beginners. Only issue with the course is the very narrow chicane like turn at the 1.5Km. Given there were 2700+ runners this slowed the pace down considerably.

No water stations in 2011 but one in 2012 course which many would be happy with.

Disappointing post-race goodies. Goody bag was pointless in 2011. No goody bag in 2012 despite info saying there would be! Only water at the end - no bananas, energy bars, energy drinks etc.

Not enough portaloos for 2700+ runners. Otherwise a well organised event. Numbers, information sent out very early.

Will run this again.

In short: Mildly Challenging Course; Well organised event
In full: First time running this one. Nice Work organised another excellent event. Good sized field - over 1000 runners.

The course is not completely flat. There are a few long gradients (wouldn't call them hills) along the course; but these are balanced out with some long downhill stretches. Mildly challenging I'd say - good thing the weather was very cool this morning. Nice feelgood finish on the track as well!

The event is well supported by locals throughout the course.

Well organised although not many toilets. 2 water stations (1 with bottles; 1 with cups). Plenty of marshalls. The route is safe as all roads are closed. Water and chocolate bars, energy bars and jaffa cakes at the finish line. An OK medal presented by the Mayor! No goody bag but most goody bags are pointless anyway!

I will be back. Nice atmosphere at the finish line.

In short: Nice race by the beach
In full: Second time running this one. The course returned to the "original" one (in 2011, we had to do Galley Hill twice due to works on the promenade - ouch!). Nice cool conditions with nice sea breeze.

Plenty of free parking around the town centre. 4 portaloos. Well organised HQ.

This is not a BIG race as its name suggests - 246 finishers. Flat course with the one climb up Galley Hill - only once! Also didn't have to run down all of the other side of Galley Hill (only about 80m) meaning only one incline this time round!

Nice small crowd support at the start/finish/mid point line. Had to do some dodging to get around pedestrians on the promenade. 1 water station at the 5.5Km mark.

Water, sweets and crisps at the end. Same medal as last year and nice technical t-shirt.

May do it again. We'll see.

In short: Excellent race, course, organisation
In full: First time running this race and was very impressed. The course is flattish with 2 climbs: long gradual climb at 3Km and steeper shorter hill at 8Km. Thanks to earlier RW reviews I was prepared for those! There are also a few downhill sections - one is a very long one which even became quite steep(!) after the 5km mark just before the 2nd water station!

Nice singlet at the end with water bottle and medal. No goody bag but this race is for charity and the entry fee is quite cheap so not too fussed.

Very well organised. Plenty of signage to get to the race plenty of parking; quiet marshalls; well organised water stations. 2 marshalls did a great job marshalling cars out of the carpark and stopping cars on a busy London Road!

I will be back.
