In short: Exhausting, but definitely fun!
In full: It may only have been 8-9 miles, but this had me asking if I'd really run a marathon just three weeks ago!
Helped by the torrential rain we've had for the last two weeks, this course was full of mud, water, hills and more mud, water and hills! I'm aching in places I didn't know I could ache, but it was worth it - even if the mud does have it's own unique perfume!

In short: Would have been perfect without the extra half a mile!
In full: This should have been a really good PB smashing course - flat, good scenery, brilliant Brighton crowds, glorious sunshine and (relatively) little sea wind. But it was spoilt by one simple thing; the distance.
I ran my legs off and completed the 13.1 half marathon distance in 1.43 (under 1.45 is a miracle for me), but my chip time was 1.46 as I had to do the extra .4 of a mile to the finish line.
Running along the sea front in the sunshine was lovely, although I found it a little depressing to do what was essentially shuttle runs for 13 odd miles!
I didn't notice that the baggage area was congested, but the goody bag was a complete waste of time. It had nothing except adverts in it!
I just feel a little cheated by the distance because 1.46 doesn't sound anywhere near as good as 1.43! Still, apparently they measured the course too short last year, so next year will be perfect!
