In short: You wion't find better value than this event
In full: When you see prices for London events around £40 for 10k and other crazy prices you really can't fault £26/8 for a marathon.

It's a rural event and for long distances you will be out by yourself in the countryside and then you come to Pebmarsh and the support is amazing.

In one quiet corner there was a group of supporters, one lady playing a organ, one handing out sweets (this happens often along the route and the little touches like this really do make it special.

I've said I'd do it again but doubt I will as this was always planned to be one and only marathon but will without doubt come along and join in the support next year and help out anyway possible.

Essex can be proud to have Halstead as it's marathon.

In short: 13 miles, 2 hills and very well organised.
In full: A great race. Organisation was superb and well marshalled. Good mix of town and countryside. Very smooth. (that was not a description of the hills)

In short: Good mix of town and countryide
In full: Enjoyed the run and liked running North Hill and Ipswich Road. Marshalls were superb, enthusiatic and encouraging all the way round!

Goody bad and medal were a let down and in some places traffic was let through where maybe it should not have been (trouble point being the latter half of the race)

In short: Great race!
In full: Paid £28 and for that I got race entry, t-shirt, drinks on route, drinks and bananas at the end plus a fantastic goody bag with lots to eat and drink.

No trouble with exiting the carpark and was well marshalled on entry.

It is an almost flat route and where there was support it was very vocal and encouraging to tired legs.

The only downside was something that no organiser can do anything about and that was the wind on the day which was brutal in some parts.

Truly fantastic race and will do it again!

In short: Great race!!
In full: £10 to enter which has been one of if not the cheapest race I've entered this year. Well signposted to get to the carpark and signing up was straight forward.
The first half a milometer you are fairtly penned into a narrow road but it soon opens and people spread out onto a beautiful route which came back on itself after 5k which was great as the many water stops given were needed due to the heat. Roughly 150ft rise in the opening hill was a great awakening to the race.

Well marshalled and no traffic issues.

Will definatly run again!

T-Shirt, bottle of water and medal for finishing.

In short: A good course to run but let down by pre-race (lack of) organisation
In full: Turned up in Dedham an hour before the race start and nowhere was there signs pointing to a race HQ or any evidence that a race was happening on the day. Luckily there is a fair sized free car park in the town center and asked others where I was supposed to go. After signing up I still had no real idea where the start point was and only because i followed a few others did I find the start but by the time the race got going I saw many others behind me who were still making their way to the start. Really needed better organisation at this point. Race itself was great, friendly marshalls and regular water points.

Hope to do it again next year but for the sake of people who do not now the area at all please signpost where to go!

In short: Good for 5 miles and well organised.
In full: A fine race and although a few hills they certainly were not as steep as others say! Enjoyed the 4th mile although the main road as it was a long uphill and able to see who is ahead. Would definatly run it again!
