In short: Amazing marshals In full: Excellent challenging race. Crowborough should be commended by the efforts they put into this - they had marshals all along the course and I don't think I have ever had so much encouragement in a local race like this before. Date of review: December 2, 2012

In short: A great half In full: The course is quite a unique mix of city centre and scenic rural lanes further out. This mix keeps you interested throughout the race with a number of ups and downs thrown in - even the ring road feels like bit of a rollercoaster as you approach the closing stages! The marshalling was friendly and efficient (particularly the baggage tent) and the technical t-shirt of decent quality. Mars bars and bananas handed out at the end with your medal. 1300 runners this year, a smattering of support throughout the course (with a band at the halfway point), I'd wager this race will grow from here now that they have a big sponsor in Decathlon. In short: Down, up, down, down, up In full: Exciting race in quiet country lanes. Mad downhill at the beginning, a brutal short hill, more downhill and then slog back up to the start. Lovely atmosphere, would definitely do again. Date of review: July 2, 2012

In short: Wonderful In full: Third time I've run this and it just gets better each time. Faultless organisation, an army of friendly marshals at every turn and just the best post-race chill with brass band, cakes, tea and now even beer. The race itself has everything, trail and road, lovely views of the lake. All in all just about the best race of the year in my book. Date of review: July 1, 2012

In short: Lovely race, generous club In full: I came up from Brighton to run this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well off my PB but this is more of a trail run than a flat-out road race but there is a fast road section in the closing stages after most of the course on scenic pathway. Very generous goodies, a free t-shirt when you collect your number and a welcome goody bag at the finish with water, sports drink and banana. Marshals throughout the course and very friendly atmosphere, highly recommended. Date of review: September 25, 2011

In short: Well worth the trip In full: I traveled up from Brighton for this one as a warm-up for an autumn marathon (and to visit friends and family). Lovely atmosphere, lots of marshals along the whole course and a free running shirt that i will actually use. I found the course quite challenging, quite a bit off my PB in the end but on the other hand it certainly kept you interested, definitely no dull sections - it seemed to constantly go either up or down and you never quite knew what was round the corner! A lovely race. Date of review: September 4, 2011
