In short: Poor organisation this year In full: I ran the Abbey Dash last year, and really enjoyed it. this year, not so much. The Woodhouse Lane car park, wasn't open when we got there (it was advertised that it would be), and it wasn't free either. I got to the start late, completely my fault, but starting back in the purple pen was awful. Dodging people for about 7kms wasn't much fun. I did get a t-shirt, but a lot of people who i knew did the race didn't get one. Also, after i'd queued for 10 minutes to get my t-shirt, i had no idea where to put my chip. The finish was so badly organised this year, which is a real shame. Date of review: November 19, 2012

In short: Awesome support and challenging hills In full: This was my first half marathon so I was nervous, but the encouragement from the crowd and the marshalls really made a difference. People stood all along the route, cars with music playing loud, it was a great atmosphere!
Organisation was great, plenty of water stations, and you get a medal at the end. The first hill up Stonegate road was pretty tough, but the rest felt OK with plenty of downhill to enjoy.
Will definitely be entering next year! Date of review: May 13, 2012

In short: Challenging terrain- lovely scenery In full: This was a really challenging race. The route was pretty narrow and crowded for the first 3km. The terrain was pretty slippy and muddy. There was also a very steep hill at 7.5km. But overall it was a great challenge, well organised and a nice mars bar at the finish! Date of review: March 18, 2012

In short: Beautiful Scenery, well organised and challenging! In full: This was my first time at running the Eccup 10, and there were a lot of club runners. It was well organised, i applied online and picked up my number on the day. The route was relatively flat for the first 6 miles, then it got 'undulating'! Plenty of water and encouragement from the marshalls along the way. It was a really enjoyable event, and all finishers recieved a little glass trophy; which was a lovely touch. Will be back next year. Date of review: July 10, 2011

In short: Great atmosphere, good support- looking forward to next year! In full: The organisation for over 9000 runners was excellent. There were plenty of water stations and clear KM markers along the route. This was my first 10K race and I was hoping to do a good time, but I totally underestimated the amount of people traffic! The road didn't get clear untill about 7km, but i'll know to make my way closer to the front for next year.
Great atmosphere from the other runners and the support. Date of review: June 21, 2011
