In short: The venue was great but the race organisation was poorly executed. In full: The organisation getting in was good, plenty of marshals to direct you to the parking area. Facilities were good - plenty of parking, a good number of portable toilets, registration was well organised and friendly. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. The race organiser spent 40 minutes telling everybody the start time was 2.30 pm not 1.30 pm - how he didn't know the start time I'll never know. The water stops were a disaster - not in places as promised and not enough people manning them. I had to stop and wait for a good 20 seconds for a drink. Your time was promised on the big screen and on a print out. This didn't happen. The course was scenic and most importantly flat and I've no doubt many people smashed their pB. The venue was great but it was just let down by poor execution. Date of review: February 3, 2013
