In short: My homecoming half - worth every step
In full: This was always going to be the race I was aiming for - the very first race I signed up to and my homecoming of sorts. From the very start at the baggage drop things were brilliant. Lovely polite cadets, lovely runners, Macmillan people who when they saw my Mac vest gave me a brilliant welcome.

Started on time (always good), excellent marshalls and lovely supporters along the way, endless encouragement from passers by and perfectly times water stops. The electrolyte stop at Saltram was a hugely welcomed sight for my flagging energy levels too.

Crossing the finish line was amazing, hand in hand with other runners and a brilliant reception. Medal as we came off was a lovely touch. One of the brilliant cadets saw my race number and ran over with my bag for me, the nicest thing anyone has ever done. Excellent podiatrists too with no waiting!

Thank you for a brilliant morning!

In short: Worth the sun burn!
In full: Despite being in unholy amounts of pain today, I'm glad I did it! Good start, nicely signposted, excellent water stations and lovely marshalls.

my one major gripe? If you say the roads are going to be closed, close them! Don't allow traffic back on BOTH sides of the road! That was not fair and more than a little bit dangerous! Other than that (and my very sore feet) a brilliant day.

Excellent monitoring of finishers by the St Johns Ambulance too - they spotted I was in trouble before I knew I was - lovely medics looked after me in the finishers area.

In short: Just brilliant! We'll be back!
In full: A brilliant race! Excellent venue, really well organised and marshalled, nice challenging course for a novice and a brilliant goodie bag at the end!

It was exactly as advertised, 2 laps of both "sections" of both grass (not my favourite) and road/pavement. Friendly spectators, encouraging marshalls, well placed water and jelly baby stops even if the hill wasn't any easier the second time round!

Brilliant idea of having the chip as part of the race number along with personalised race numbers - so lovely to have your name yelled in encouragement when flagging!

Cannot believe how much fun I had, cannot wait for next year! This was my first 10k and has given me such a boost in confidence and smiles. Well done Lymm and the Race Director - you did an amazing job!

In short: My first 5k race - I might come back :)
In full: My 1st 5k race was a bit bonkers - but it was very friendly for this new runner. The hills were horrible, the mud was muddy, lovely stadium/track start and finish.

Boomerang was a quirky memento...would have really liked a proper chip time but for the 1st time racer, it didn't terrify me!
