In short: Fun
In full: A good race with some challenges for everyone. Some queuing at obstacles but that allowed for some good chats with fellow competitors. Good organiser, great atmosphere. Book an early race if you plan on racing around though to beat the busy spots.

In short: One of my Favourites
In full: I was the unlucky guy in the first wave with the broken Fib and Tib. 2nd year doing the run and was pushing a great time this year. I unfortunately slipped on the little hills at Holme Pierrpont. Ironic having done the course before and finished the Tough Guy easily this year too.

I like the race, it breaks up what can be a, dare I say, another boring flat 10K.

The organisation was good again. I have even been contacted by the organisers while in hospital to check how I am doing etc.

I will be back again next year once I can walk/run again and I will get a better time that my first year!

In short: Great race, made a change from the mundane usual 10K although I think this was more 11 1/22. Definate do again! Fun and recommendedd, just need a bit more space on the obstacles

In short: I competed the Hoofers Relay Section
In full: I competed in the Hoofers Relay race of the Marathon.

The information and details supplied were very good with photos of the check points. Although one team member missed the relay point at 11 miles as the flag was blowing backwards so delayed us by 10 mins.

I ran the 6.1 miles around holme pierpont and found encouragement was good and expected this to be the hardest part of the course due to the straight long lake. Wasnt bad and I beat my expected time.

I trained to do 5 miles in 50 mins and did 6.1 in 48 mins. Got to be happy :-)

In short: Thank you for a well organised race that suits all
In full: I ran this race today for the first time. I should say I am an experienced runner having done 10 full marathons plus including the south downs way in 96'. But I have not ran for 10 years and wanted something open to everyone to get outside and to get off my treadmill (bought 6 weeks ago) and back into real running. This was well orginised, easy to find and friendly. There where runners of all abilities and suited me brilliantly. I managed a slow 30 mins (which I am happy with given my current fitness) but if I'd been a 40 min runner I would have found good support too. Fast runners got praise just the same.

Friendly race and actually is suitable for all, I was sceptical and was worried about the pace but overall a nice break back into running.

Thanks.

(next time I'll be at the front lol)

Nick

Can I get my fitness back to 10 years ago:-
London Marathon 96 & 98 (3.58)
South Downs Way trial 96 (80 mile)(21 hours)
Sheffield Marathon Twice 96 & 97 (1.37)
Sleaford Half (1.32)
Woodhall Spa Twice (1.36)
Newark 3 times 94 +(1.32)

Three miles felt hard today but well worth it,

Thank you
