In short: Brilliant way to finish race year
In full: Smoothly run straight from clearly signed parking getting on shuttle bus to event, undulating first nine yes 9 miles uphill with a few small downs but it was nice scenery and like training here around the back roads of home...good atmosphere clapping cheering marshalls and everyone seemed to chat and enjoy it after the finish...queues for everything baggage, toilets refreshments were long but dispersed quickly like a well oiled machine top bacon sandwich for £1.50 not a rip off van....a race run by runners for runners memento was a rucksack some people moaned but personally a nice touch (how many t-shirts can you wear with different events ) ..great run to burn belly off for Christmas stuffing your face time thanks guys..

In short: Potential to be brilliant
In full: Start was different without areas for times, course was nice to run round instead of driving round the roundabouts.fast and flat except near the end the last 3miles up and down the cycle path took its toll with one on the bridge with a steep incline near the end to finish you off.the weather was torrential especially the snow luckily I just finished. The major downs for me were the bottles of water were hard to open if poor water guy didn't get chance,no fruit or energy source at the end I appreciate to be responsible for yourself but that's the first time I,ve done a race without any, also medal wasn't bad but would have been nice to have someone hand it to you or put it on not just give it in its bag.baggage was spot on hardly a queue toilets spot on.biggest let down space blankets at finish there weren't any it was wet and freezing people were shaking everywhere.

The road was closed for the majority but some d***heads were still slamming it past on the bits that weren't only a cone and tape to save you!!!

A big thank you to everyone who cheered people on in cold wet weather around the course..I got sub 1.55 which was what I wanted so overall a good day.

In short: my first half marathon finished on a high
In full: as a triathlete this was my first distance run.the course was brlliant hills at the beginning and mainly flat for the rest, was hoping for a sub 2.15 from RW plan and smashed 2hours dissapointed by extra milage but they held their hand up and corrected times accordingly.the medal was top notch and weighty.i pay £35 upwards for a tri race they are secure and you register i appreciate more people do these races but people did and could join in and finish and collect momento's whilst others paid £30 for good charities and priviledge to run.the biggest thing that peed me off was when you finished you were being pushed out of the way by supporters getting to friends and family instead of runners going to them they should close the finishing village off to the finishers.Brilliant weather virgin race over would do again thanks for the memories
