In short: Costly and Disappointing In full: Expensive but for a good cause although I don't know how much went to cancer research. From all the pre race hype it was disappointing to run into a grimy road tunnel dubbed a snow cave with a couple of coloured up lighters. The snow zones were rubbish and a lot more effort could have been made to make it more fun.
Marshals and polar bears were supportive on such a cold day. In short I wouldn't do this again Date of review: March 4, 2015
In short: Great day, great run, great organisation In full: My second marathon but not a PB for me. Probably because both knees were held together with Velcro straps! Lovely route out in to Wales and good support from all along route including the Marshall's. THANK YOU.
Nice goody bag and medal, plenty of drinks stations. All in all a fantastic weekend. Thank you Chris and Andy. Date of review: October 8, 2013
In short: Well Organises and good route In full: As good as last year but nicer weather. Disappointed there was no goody bag and that water was in cups not bottles, makes it hard to drink. Similar races often have a t-shirt, medal and goody bag. What happenned this year?
Still got a good time considering I had just flown in 1800 miles with no sleep! Date of review: September 25, 2013
In short: Fantastic organisation yet again. In full: From the update emails from Albert Kemp (who really cares about the individual) to the supportive marshals out on the ground, the organisation and friendliness if this event are second to none. The locals out with their hoses were a god send due to the intense heat this year and I can't thank everyone enough.
Can't wait to do it again next year! Date of review: July 7, 2013
In short: Tough course but a lovely run In full: Great organisation and friendly staff and marshals. Thank you to all the helpers for standing around in the freezing conditions. Bag drop and finish line were great. Mice medal and t-shirt too.
Managed my PB on this race so love it even more!
Up yours to some of the impatient rude motorists!
Can't wait for next year but hope its a bit warmer. Date of review: February 24, 2013
In short: Fantastic Run. Loved it! In full: Easy course, great atmosphere especially in Leigh and under the A21 at hayesden lane. Plenty of marshals, traffic free and a fantastic medal giver. Can't wait til next year to improve my time! Date of review: September 24, 2012
In short: Wicked In full: Great organisation all round, especially the pre-event emails. The course was very tough with changes in scenery and terrain every few minutes. Hills towards the end were more than challenging but managed not to stop.
A great atmosphere and friendly marshalls and drink stations. The drink stations were great, offering isotonic drinks and jelly babies. Nice to sink a quick beer at then end too!
Looking forward to next year to try and beat my time. Date of review: July 2, 2012
