In short: What's not to love, this is THE London Marathon!
In full: My 2nd time running this iconic event, yes there are lots of runners, yes it inevitably slows down at some bottle necks, yes you have to dodge other runners/bottles of water etc on the road BUT what other race can you do where you get cheered on like an Olympic athlete for 26 miles, water at every mile, a fab medal and a sense of achievement and pride to last all year. This is a great race and one to soak up the atmosphere, the Lucozade Tunnel of Yes at mile 23 wasa particular favourite moment of mine. It's definitely one to do.

In short: Superb race, ran like clockwork, well worth doing
In full: Another great race organised by Biggleswade AC. Fabulous weather, a lovely fast course, great t.shirt and excellently marshalled and supported throughout. I cannot rate this event highly enough. Made up of mainly club runners but welcoming to all. A great job, thanks.

In short: Superb race and excellently organised
In full: Ivanhoe runners should be super proud of themselves, what a fantastic race. Brilliantly organised, the best water stations of any race I've ever done, with water, gels, jelly babies, chocolate and great support all the way round. You can really tell this is a race run by runners, for runners. It deserves every praise. Even the snow and gruelling mud at the end didn't spoil a great run.

In short: A good pre marathon test
In full: Yes it's 4 laps for the half marathon, yes there is nothing to look at but if you are there to test yourself who cares? A good flat course, one superbly enthusiastic marshal, lots of space to run your own speed, plenty of parking and cheap as chips. A great race, well organised and perfect timing for a pre marathon test run.

In short: Thoroughly enjoyable race despite the weather
In full: This is a superb race, great course with some long undulations but nothing too scary (despite the race name) the biggest challenge today was the blustery, icy cold weather, however, locals turned out to support and the marshals were supportive and cheerful.. Plenty of water/energy drinks en route and a very smooth start/finish, coupled with a great course multi terrain course. I will be back next year.

In short: Crap start, worse finish, cramped course, Bham must do better.
In full: As a resident Brummie the best part of this race was the fact that I got home quickly afterwards. Absoloutely no point in having pens as it was a free for all resulting in people cutting in and out from the beginning right through to the end of the course. The route was too narrow and winding which led again to dangerous behaviour as faster runners tried to pass slower runners in front. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, the finish line - or the fact that you couldn't get accross the finish line. Then to have to wait for 20 minutes to get your chip removed and your bag - ridiculous!
Birmingham must address these issues or they wont have any runners next year.

In short: Wonderfully organised, great course, fabulous run
In full: First time of doing this run but will definitely be back next year. A good course with a few undulations (7-8km being the worst of them)but nothing too strenuous. Very well organised, well done Flitwick.

In short: undulating and undulating again but very enjoyable
In full: A challenging course which was excellently organised with plenty of supportive marshals. A brilliant run to test your progress in the lead up to a spring marathon - if I ever felt the need to run 30k again I would certainly do this one again.

In short: What was with the flavoured water - dont do that again!
In full: Good race and well supported along the route. My only complaint was the water was disgusting and the bottles were too big. Runners need drinks on the way round and I think you should just supply the normal Vittel, this stuff was so disgusting I had to go without -not ideal. Liked the fact that they were giving out Lucozade at the end. Very well marshalled and good flat route suitable to get a PB.
Where was the goody bag????
