In short: Overall a good race, but not the best I've ever done In full: Organisers need more toilets - I know this gets said at every event but this was crazy. About 20 toilets for 4000 people - there were so many people that missed their start time because they were in the queue for the toilets - I was in the queue for 25 mins! In short: Just another race in the calendar In full: There was nothing special about the race. Too bad about the hot weather. They should have had more water stations - 4 stations on a half marathon course with heat and humidity. Course is a little boring. Would I do it again - maybe if I am looking for a half marathon to do next year at this time of year and there are no others available. Date of review: July 24, 2006

In short: too many people In full: I know that running with 50,000 others is a great atmosphere but it just far too many. During the whole race I never had more than a metre of clear space in front of me. They are focusing on being the world's largest half marathon rather than being a decent run. The Bolder Boulder run in Colorado, USA sets a good example - with 35,000 runners everyone is split into groups of 1000 and groups set off with about 5 minutes in between, which worked fantastically well.
