In short: Well organised, scenic Race, can definitely recommend In full: Lovely, well organised, countryside race, with a number of mild undulations. Stewards were always encouraging and we had the sun shining throughout as a bonus. Good touch before the start with a 2 minute remembrance silence and The Last Post. Nice remembrance medals at the end too. Date of review: November 11, 2012

In short: Well organised, good challenging course, don't understand why under 300 people ran! In full: Ever since this race left the football club, it has becoming a much more attractive fixture in the running season, with the course now running out into the countryside, rather than the up and down of the cycle tracks around Harlow. This has made it a far more interesting event and although it's now more challenging and was a little warm, it was not blistering hot and this made it a far more intriguing event. Organisation was fabulous, with all the marshalls shouting encouragement along the way and for the speed merchants there was a track finish. I also had no problems with the toilets with a queue of 4 people, around 15 minutes before the start. Overall, an excellent event and well worth doing. Date of review: July 23, 2012

In short: Excellent Organisation, friendly and welcoming spectators, some challenging inclines, In full: As usual, another very well organised race, which some lovely stalls at the start, which the wife and mother in law throughly enjoyed. Quite challenging course through a mix of town and rural with some interesting inclines (but not overly hilly), but more than made up for by the various spectator standing spots. Numerous water stations throughout and always well manned. Would definitely do again. Small very tiny gripe - can we get the waterproof numbers for next years race, as this years. Numbers disintegrated after a couple of spilt cups of water, otherwise a lovely race. Date of review: May 20, 2012

In short: Challenging, but scenic course, but not PB material In full: Great way to start the year on a lovely sunny day on the Epson Downs (or should I say UPs). Scenic, but challenging course, very well organised and great encouragement from the marshalls. Unusual momento, not sure what it is!! Does anyone know what it is or use one?? In short: A Very Promising Start. In full: Good race, despite the slightly congested/confusing start at the beginning, where runners had to walk down steps and clamber over (small) walls. Well organised event (plenty of marshalls) and magnificent support through the villages we ran through (very uplifting). A lovely finish to the race with great views of the cathedral and tremendous support cheering you home. Nice goody bag and medal at the end (although I would suggest less sponsor logos monopolising the medal - however not the point, as running the race is the main event). I'm not sure if trains were running today that went through the level crossing we passed over during the race, but I wouldn't have been too impressed to be held up by a train, especially if I was going for a pb! Small minor point, smaller water bottles may be more appropriate at water stations, as I can't imagine anyone could drink that much water in one hit (eco friendly too). A big up to the organisers. In short: Great Scenary and Lovely Course In full: The race is fantastic, on a lovely scenic course and with no problems for parking and is great VFM with both a medal and T-shirt at the end. It also has great PB potential, as it is completely flat. The gripes are few and as already mentioned by some runners, some KM markers would have been appreciated, apart from the 2 and 7km which were just simply wrong. The start also caught a further number of runners, as the race began a couple of minutes earlier and also the finish line could have been a little more distictive. However, as noted already, the £10 entry fee more than makes up for this and I will return in the future. Keep up the good work and I am surprised this race is not better supported. In short: Good pleasant nice Run in sunny Conditions In full: Good run, a little undulating/hilly in the first 5 miles and then flat for the next 4 miles, with some undulations in the last mile. Made better though by the sunshine (incredibly a bit too low and bright in the first couple of miles). Nice ruck sack at the end of the race, which makes a change from a medal/T-shirt, although no goody bag (not a showstopper though) and I didn't get a chip to record my official time. Otherwise, well organised, although a little chaotic in the club house before the race, prompt start and friendly encouraging marshalls along the course. Parking is difficult, so if you arrive late and cannot park near the clubhouse, you will need to think carefully where to park, so you can make a quick escape. Otherwise, I would do the race again in the future. Date of review: January 17, 2010

In short: Great First Attempt, Fantastic Marshalling In full: Very good attempt at their first race, with wonderfully helpful, friendly and supportive marshalling from start to finish. The only really minor gripe is that there are a number of sharp 'U' turns in mid race, which although though don't reduce the race experience, may make it difficult for someone to get a PB. However, definitely one for the future. Also ample car parking facilities and great T-shirt at the end. Overally a very friendly and begin friendly race. Good luck for the future.

In full: Fantastically well organised race with well positioned water stations (Mike's influence presumably) and magificent support through the pretty villages you run through. Plenty of opportunities on the course for shading under trees, which was appreciated on the hottest day of the year so far! The course is generally undulating and there are 2 big hills, although the first one is a gradual 1-1.5 mile climb and is that not bad (if you take it easy) and the second one between 10 and 11 miles is tough and you just grin and bear it up (it is also the same hill you go down between 2 and 3 miles, so you get a good feel for what's to come later), but it is do-able and not as difficult as the old Marlow Half Marathon hill at about 9 miles. The last 2 miles are pretty much all down hill, which is appreciated after the last big hill. Overall an excellent race, with a nice medal and decent goody bag at the end.
