In short: Lovely way to spend a Wednesday evening
In full: Thorougly enjoyed this race. Very well organised. Lovely medal/bottle opener. Really good atmosphere. And received a text with my time before I had even got back to my car. Wish all races were like this.

In short: Very well supported, good mixed course.
In full: This was my first time at Fleet, and I would definately do it again, but without the rain next time please. The course was varied, with good support in the town, and nice country lanes as well. Shame that Calthorpe Park was so muddy, but organisation was spot on.

In short: More mud than I have ever run through, or woul;d wish to see again.
In full: What can I say about this iconic race. It is exactly as described by everyone, VERY hilly, boggy and muddy, but enjoyable all the same. The support from the locals is amazing, loved the drummers on the beach, and the bagpipes in the forest. Couldn't face another jelly baby for a while. Unexpected bonus was the snow,that made us all feel really hardcore. It is a very tough race, by no means a fun run. This was my first time, and probably my last. Well worth doing for the T-shirt. Thanks Axe Valley for a very well organised event, the marshalls should be thanked for standing out in the cold for so long and still encourging us. I shall dine out on my falling in the bog stories for a long while.

In short: Killer tough race, but still amazing.
In full: The most fantastic weather really made this race. Clear blue sky, and just the right chill in the air. The sand is an absolute killer, and you can't avoid it at all, not made any better by having to run through mud and bog just before the worst of the sand, so your shoes are already wet and heavy. Despite that it was a lovely race, and we got the best goody bag ever, filled with Lush products, chocolate flapjack, and a National Trust hat. On top of that there were a supberb group of chiropractors giving free massage in the sun. Couldn't ask for more.

In short: Toughest race I've ever done, but elated to have finished.
In full: Not called The Beast for nothing, we were warned at the start, no kidding !! This is such a tough course, with hills to curse, and sets of cliff steps that can give you vertigo. I would say we were lucky that it rained, as the thought of doing this in blazing sunshine is unbearable. Downside of rain was the slippery stones on many of the paths, and the mud, especially at the end. The only respite you get are the stiles to climb, and you wouldn't believe there could be so many stiles. Despite all that, the sense of achievement you get at the end is second to none, only topped by a magnificent Beast T-shirt, which most people were proudly sporting as they left. Great race with a fantastic atmosphere.

In short: Great race with excellent organisation.
In full: Well organised, with plenty of toilets, changing areas, and well signed so you found everything easily.

Bit of a drag round the field out and back, but fine once you hit the road.
Glad the weather was kind to us, no rain or hot sunshine. Plenty of water stops, loved the free shower at the final one !

In short: Beautiful run beside the river.
In full: We were blessed with a hot sunny day, which made for a lovely run alongside the Thames, if a little too warm for my liking, but worth it for such beautiful scenery. Well organised and very friendly. No good if you want loads of crowd support apart from the finish, but you would have to go a long way to find a prettier off road race.
