In short: Great almost traffic-free PB run. Friendly organisers and great effort from the Guides and scouts In full: Much to my utter shame and embarrassment, I turned up 10 minutes late to this event (Don't rely on Google Maps!) I couldn't fault the organisers in how they dealt with getting me to on my way. On the plus side, I spent the entire run overtaking other runners which was a great confidence boost. Agree that there was little in the way of local support, but at -4 with wind chill that's not too surprising. I would definitely do this event again and thoroughly recommend it as a training run for Spring marathon runners. It's superb value and so quiet and relaxing on the way round. I shaved over 19 minutes off my PB and got in under two hours. Thank you to the marshals, stewards and lovely guides, brownies and scouts who cheered us so magnificently. In short: Very well organised race in fantastic Manchester In full: This was my first 10k so I think I'll have some emotional attachment to it for some time. Not cheap but I ran for a charity. Great cheering although very quiet for some spots (not a bad thing). Some incline. Water and goodie bag dispatch great. Same as others re: walking very early on, and people working 2 or 3 a breast which makes for a lot of weaving in and out. Great warm-up and lovely atmos. Very happy to have completed in 58 mins and 44 secs after running for 5 months. Date of review: May 23, 2012
