In short: Started late which sums it up
In full: Great support in city centre which made me proud to be a Sheffielder, however the route on the whole is dire does not show Sheffield in a good light.
Usual issue with cups at drink stations, started late which is a bit naff, I will stick to Liverpool half in future which is the best organised half.

In short: I love this race
In full: This was the race that set me off running a year ago 12 other races later I loved my 2nd go at it.

The people of Lincoln really give this event some support so the atmosphere is very special
Have to agree about goody bag utter rubbish, if there is nothing in it just hand out a medal as other races do. Just a waste of 5500 bags in my view. Needs sorting for next year.

In full: Not anybody's fault but I hated it, the cold meant I never got warm enough to hit my stride, in places too many people running on narrow paths and was nearly knocked flying by runners barging through the pack early on.
I was starting to think I was a reasonable runner approaching good for age, I felt today like a new runner, Clearly I need to stick to road races.

In short: I had a good run but organisation is dreadful
In full: To run out of t shirts is simply not good enough, they know how many people are likely to run so need to sort this out.

I ran a PB but could have done better on the turn into the home straight it was very congested so hard to get speed up when I wanted.

The end organisation was an omnishambles too many cold people waiting too long to get out of pens. I know I am a bit precious perhaps but I would prefer a medal to yet anothe tshirt I will never wear, at least I got one though.

In short: Really enjoyed this one not sure it is falt as the organisers claim though
In full: This made a real change from the big city half marathons I tend to run. I was a bit anxious as I thought it might be a bit serious and I would be at the back. It was friendly and welcoming and I enjoyed running off road through the mud. It is well organised and marshalled and they give lots of encouragement.

I managed a PB which is always good

In short: Nowhere else to review 2012 race come on Runners World that is poor
In full: I loved this race the hill is really not that bad I train in Sheffield. The crowds were great and I love the contrast of the scenery on the way round I cracked my aim of going under2 hours for a half in my first year of running so had a real high. The GNR did nothing for me and I just thought it is overhyped on many levels. This however is so much better and sort of passes under the wire. I will be back next year.

In short: Did not live up to expectations
In full: Having watched on TV for years I was expecting something amazing at my first GNR. In all honesty it felt a little flat. I agree with comments about those who clearly think they are an elete runner and are walking within 1K causing chaos

In short: 2012 review as there is nowhere else to put it
In full: One to do and as a newish runner was glad to do it. I ended up in the pink zone as when I entered I had no idea how long it would take me therefore took 40 minutes after the gun to reach start line.
I have run 6 races this year and as usual as someone who runs every step whatever the distance I get frustrated with those walking within the first km and blocking the way. I ran far more than 13.1 miles by weaving my way from begining to end. It is hilly but I had no problems as I was well trained. Just overall I was dissapointed as it did not feel as special as I had hoped, support was good appart from kids squirting water at runners which on a wet day I could have done without

In short: Why finnish with a hill
In full: Well off my PB but didnt set out for that as am running the GNR in 2 weeks so this was to keep me motivated. It is a depressing out and back run finishing up a hill into city center. Well organised, but compared to Sheffield Half support from Sheffielders is lack lustre so it just felt like going through the motions, my 5th race this year and by far my least favourite
