In short: A flat calm day would be needed for a PB on this course. Distance from HQ to start isn't ideal, but nit-picking really. Cool t-shirt for finishers, encouaging locals & marshalls. Get there early enough to claim a parking space! p

In short: Well done Selby Striders - great event. Flat as a pancake, so both potentially fast but also exposed on a windy day - get lucky with the weather and a fast time is to be had
In full: The road signage out of Selby is non-existant, so give yourself an extra 5 minutes to navigate by the sun. Parking plentiful, but in a field that could get interesting in wet conditions. Loo facilities limited, but relatively low limit on entrants (300) made to queues manageable. The course itself is very flat, so if you catch a good day then there must be massive PB potential - however any significant wind at all, and it would become rather challenging. Marshalls were numerous and efficient. Hot drinks and chocolate in the village hall very welcome on a frosty morn'. And a lovely 'woolly' hat in the goodie-bag. I'll definitely put it 'on the calendar' for 2013 - well done Selby Striders.

In short: A great event
In full: A really enjoyable event. If you have a special PB-category for a 10k 'trail' race, then this event could easily provide it. Marshalls were friendly and efficient, if not effusive - but no criticism from me for that. Loo facilities a bit limited, but hey - go before you leave home!

I'll definitely be back, and would recommend the event to anyone. Who cares if the loud-hailer fails, you just start running when the guy in front does! The congestion noted by another reviewer was largely down to an unfortunate faller - but there but for the grace of god etc.

In short: Good parking; some loo congestion; great course with long useable downhill second half;.
In full: Really enjoyed this 10k. Good weather certainly helped, but very well organised. No traffic congestion on approaches (as I had feared), and an excellent course - uphill early on (when you're fresh) and long, useable downhill second half. And a nice finish through the town centre with spectator encouragement. I managed a PB, but I've only been runnning for 12 months - so not sure how it rates for the more experienced runner. My only (very slight) criticism would be the seemingly unavoidable 'loo queue'.

In short: Wold gold
In full: A great race. The 'half-up', 'half-down' combo worked well for me, though it might be nice to run it the other way around to get the encouagement of the Skidby locals in the last mile, and not have 'that hill' to worry about! Top race, great marshalling, I hope I'll be back.
